Genesis 6:1-4 When people began to multiply on the face of the ground, and daughers were born to them, the sons of God saw that they were fair; and they took wives for themselves of all that they chose. Then the Lord said "My spirit shall not abide in mortals forever, for they are flesh; their days shall be one hundred and twenty years." The Nephilim were on the earth in these days-and also afterwards- when the sons of God went in to the daughters of humans who bore children to them. These were the heroes of old, warriors of reknown.

Nephilim translates to "those who fell from the sky" basically. Now, if I am reading this correctly, angels decided that they needed to breed with women (who can blame them :jiggy:;) ). This made God decide to needed to not as live as long also. The nephilim are the byproducts of angel/human reproduction then??? This is slightly confusing... So are these the angels that were cast down with Lucifer? Doesn't the book of Enoch also refer to something like this? I remember looking at a book about the Dead Sea Scrolls and Enoch refered to the "Watchers" (no, I am a different type of Watcher then this). Any other thoughts about the Nephilim? I read a David Icke book not long ago. He thinks that the Nephilim are aliens:sarcastic . It was a slightly wierd book....
So about the Nephilim, they were able to bread with people, yet they came from god. If they are in another dimension or something like that, how could they?

They can breed spiritually, Watcher. They do not need to perform er.."intimate contact" to do so.

It says "the nephilim were on earth in these days."
Are the nephilim connected with the giants we hear about in the Bible (ex. Goliath)

Goliath is well within the range of a disease called "Gigantism". It is caused by a defect in your pituitary gland, which causes growth hormones to be released long after they should have ceased. This also causes the pituitary gland to swell, which can cause eye damage, and even blindness. Goliath may have had poor vision, and that could explain why David won so easily.

Maybe the Nephilim were another species of human, perhaps Homo Robustus (being rather tall and robust) or Neanderthal. It's stretching, but maybe it was an unknown species. Maybe they were aliens?

If they were aliens they could have used nuclear fusion engines to fly, or had nuclear weapons on their ship. They could have crashed, and exploded, causing the two layers of glass that appear to have been nuclearly fused (but it was far too old for us too have done it modernly). Maybe that would explain the Vimana told of by the Hindus (I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong.) The Holy Books also told of "spears with all the power of the universe" that could destroy entire cities. Nukes?

*Edited because it's not Vimnas, but Vimana*

Wow, I've never heard of the Vimnas. I will have to look that up. David Icke thought that they were aliens in his book. Thanks for the info Druidus.

Holy Crap!!!! That last one is amazing! It says that the Vimana hurled the projectile at the exact place that we found the huge layer of ancient fused glass! It lists the effects of a nuke as well!

The surprising thing about these drawings, drawn using the specs written the the Indian Holy Books? Technically, they are capable of flight.

    Watcher,

This exact thing has bugged me for a long time, because--correct me if I'm wrong-- but getting rid of the angel/humans was one of the motives behind the 'Great Flood'. It never seemed fair to me that God would allow the angels to breed with humans and then kill them all because he didn't like the result.

I also find it incredibly humorous, that many religious people who take the bible literally and sing of it's prophetic accuracy, fail to actually compare the bible's claims to reality.

"Yes, well the Lord hath proclaimed that no human would ever live past the age of 120 years, and it is so!"

"...Um, actually the Guiness Book of World Records just recorded a guy who was 123 years old..."

In Noah’s day, Jehovah declared: "My spirit shall not act toward man indefinitely in that he is also flesh. Accordingly his days shall amount to a hundred and twenty years." (Genesis 6:3) The issuance of this divine decree in 2490 B.C.E. marked the beginning of the end for that ungodly world. Just think what that meant for those then living! Only 120 years more and Jehovah would bring "the deluge of waters upon the earth to bring to ruin all flesh in which the force of life is active from under the heavens."—Genesis 6:17

Noah received the warning of the upcoming catastrophe decades in advance, and he wisely used the time to prepare for survival. "After being given divine warning of things not yet beheld," says the apostle Paul, "[Noah] showed godly fear and constructed an ark for the saving of his household." (Hebrews 11:7) so this is what the 120 years refers to.

    Mighty
Ones of Old, Men of Fame

The disobedient materialized angels had sexual relations with women, and the women bore children. These were not ordinary children. They were Nephilim, half human and half angel. The Bible account says: "The Nephilim proved to be in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of the true God continued to have relations with the daughters of men and they bore sons to them, they were the mighty ones who were of old, the men of fame."—Genesis 6:4.

The Hebrew word "nephilim" literally means "fellers," those who fell others, or who cause others to fall, through violent acts. Thus, it is not surprising that the Bible account adds: "The earth became filled with violence." (Genesis 6:11) The mythological demigods, such as Heracles and the Babylonian hero Gilgamesh, strongly resemble Nephilim.

Notice that the Nephilim were called "mighty ones" and "men of fame." Unlike the righteous man Noah, who lived in the same period, the Nephilim were not interested in promoting the fame of Jehovah. They were interested in their own fame, glory, and reputation. Through mighty acts, which undoubtedly involved violence and bloodshed, they earned the fame they craved from the ungodly world around them. They were the superheroes of their day—feared, respected, and seemingly invincible.

While the Nephilim and their debased angelic fathers may have enjoyed fame in the eyes of their contemporaries, they certainly were not famous in God’s sight. Their way of life was detestable. Consequently, God acted against the fallen angels. The apostle Peter wrote: "God did not hold back from punishing the angels that sinned, but, by throwing them into Tartarus, delivered them to pits of dense darkness to be reserved for judgment; and he did not hold back from punishing an ancient world, but kept Noah, a preacher of righteousness, safe with seven others when he brought a deluge upon a world of ungodly people."—2 Peter 2:4, 5.

At the global Flood, the rebellious angels dematerialized and returned in disgrace to the spirit realm. God punished them by prohibiting them from again materializing human bodies. The Nephilim, the superhuman offspring of the disobedient angels, all perished. Only Noah and his small family survived the Deluge

    Giants of Gath
    David Gaddy
    Posted on 10/03/2001

We all have heard the story of David and how he slew Goliath the giant of the Philistines. But just in case, let's recap a bit. David was a young man, the son of Jesse who had other sons off to war against the Philistines. When bringing his brothers food, he noticed that a giant among the Philistines had challenged any single man of Israel to fight him for victory of the war. But all of the Israelite soldiers were afraid, so David asked the king if he could fight the giant Goliath. King Saul agreed and David went and collected 5 stones at the river and brought his sling as the only weapon against this great soldier. After David's declaration of his faith, he hurled a stone at Goliath. The giant fell and David removed Goliath's head with his own sword. Ever wondered why David picked up 5 stones instead of just one? (1 Samuel 17:4-51)

As David grew older he became king by God's decree and finally succeeded Saul (2 Samuel 2:4). Many years later, he finds himself pitted in battle again with the Philistines. It is at this point that we learn that Goliath had four brothers (Hence the extra 4 stones plucked from the river.), Ishbi-Benob, Sippai (aka Saph), Lahmi, and an unnamed deformed man. All of these were giants and they were the sons of a giant in Gath. David was beginning to get older and was more vulnerable on the battle field. These brothers, chose this time to try and kill David. Ishbi-Benob almost succeeded but was slain by Abisha, one of David's servants. The other giants also fell by the hands of David's servants. (2 Samuel 21:15-22, 1 Chronicles 20:1-8)

I thought this was very compelling and decided to do a little family analysis on these giants of Gath:

    Rapha

    • Named Rapha? (2 Samuel 21:22) The term giant in this passage is derived from the Hebrew word Rapha (raw-faw') which is either descriptive of his race or is his proper name. The NIV translates it as a proper name and the KJV translates as giant. We'll call him Rapha for the purpose of this article.
    • Lived in Gath and bore 5 large sons(1 Chronicles 20:8).
    Goliath

    • Lived in Gath (1 Samuel 17:23)
    • Approximately 9' tall (6 cubits and a span 1 Samuel 17:4)
    • Wore a mail coat that weighed about 125 pounds (5000 shekels 1 Samuel 17:5)
    • Had a spear the size of a weaver's beam and the spearhead weighed about 15 pounds (600 shekels 1 Samuel 17:7)
    • Carried a remarkable sword that David later took with him to Gath (1 Samuel 21:9)
    • Killed by David (1 Samuel 17:50-51)
    Isbib-Benob

    • One of the sons of Rapha of Gath. (2 Samuel 21:16)
    • Had a spear that weighed about 7 1/2 pounds. (300 shekels 2 Samuel 21:16)
    • Carried a new sword into battle with David. (2 Samuel 21:16)
    • Killed by Abishai. (2 Samuel 21:17)
    Sippai (aka Saph)

    • Named Sippai (1 Chronicles 20:4), also known as Saph (2 Samuel 21:18).
    • One of the sons of Rapha of Gath. (2 Samuel 21:18, 1 Chronicles 20:4)
    • Killed in the battle of Gob by David's servant, Sibbechai. (2 Samuel 21:18, 1 Chronicles 20:4)
    Lahmi

    • Named Lahmi (1 Chronicles 20:5).
    • Brother of Goliath. (1 Chronicles 20:5, 2 Samuel 21:19)
    • His spear staff was like a weaver's beam. (1 Chronicles 20:5, 2 Samuel 21:19)
    • Killed by another of David's servants, Elhanan. (1 Chronicles 20:5, 2 Samuel 21:19)
    The Six-Fingered Man.

    • Fought David's men in Gath. (2 Samuel 21:20, 1 Chronicles 20:6)
    • Had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot. (2 Samuel 21:20, 1 Chronicles 20:6)
    • Was a son a Rapha. (2 Samuel 21:20, 1 Chronicles 20:6)
    • Killed by David's nephew, Jonathan. (2 Samuel 21:21, 1 Chronicles 20:7)

    Who Were The Nephilim?
Genesis Chapter 6 contains one of those fundamental passages which you need to have a good understanding of, or else you'll have problems with some of the other passages of the Bible.

Chapter 6 begins, "And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the ground, and daughters were born unto them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all that they chose."
Look at the phrase 'sons of God' (in Hebrew - BeneHaElohim). Whenever this phrase is used in Scripture, it refers to angels (the First Chapter of Job, for example). So what we have going on here is angels copulating with human women.

The chapter goes on: "The Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of God came unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them: the same were the mighty men that were of old, the men of renown."

Who were the Nephilim? The KJV renders this word "giants" (taken from the Greek word gigantes; a word similar to that which is translated into English as 'titan'; also called "Rephaim"). They were the offspring which resulted from angels mating with mortal women. They were "mighty men...of renown." These were partly terrestrial, partly celestial offspring that were apparently much larger and stronger than regular people. They were the basis of most of the ancient world's myths and legends, including the Greek, Egyptian, Sumerian, Mayan, the Incas, et al...and Native Americans.

This is kind of interesting. The Nephilim were said to possess six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot. Now, we're all familiar that Native American customs are very spiritual, right? They were so very terrified of these half-man, half-angel hybrids with six fingers that they would greet a stranger by holding up their hand with the palm out to count the fingers. Anyone who has seen Native Americans portrayed in TV and movies are familiar with this gesture.

So, in Genesis 6 we have angels running around sleeping with the human women and creating this race of genetically augmented super-beings. This was one of Satan's earlier attempts to foil God's plan of a seed crushing his head (mentioned in the last post) - by intermixing humans with angels, he corrupts the genetic line. As you read the account of the Flood of Noah in Genesis, you may ask, why would God cause all that He has created to be destroyed, save for 8 people? And why would He preserve these 8 people?

As to why He would wipe out mankind - and the animals, is it only because of man's wickedness? If so, we in this modern time better brace ourselves, because it ain't gotten any better. Or was there another reason? Could it be that this attempt to spoil man's genetic line had been so pervasive throughout the world that few people were left that remained "unspoiled?" Read on:

Chapter 9 states that there was this one guy by the name of Noah. "Noah was a righteous man, and perfect in his generations..." Many people assume that God was going to destroy the world because mankind was bad, and that Noah was good. I disagree that Noah was so good, because after the flood we read where he got drunk and naked and a little crazy. So, as far as morality goes, I don't think Noah was so perfect. More likely, the passage is rather referring to his genetic line being unspoiled by the shenanigans of the fallen angels. (this harkens us to the future Levitical law where the sacrifices made to the Lord had to be without spot or blemish). So why did God preserve these 8 people? Number one - they were faithful to Him, number two - they had a "perfect" genetic lineage. Satan's attempt to thwart the genetic line of God had been so successful that it caused God to erase all of mankind in order to purge this genetic corruption. But it had not been complete. It had not affected Noah's genealogy (another purpose of Genesis Chapter 5 is to record this genealogy).

The flood, we are told, was brought in “upon the ungodly” (2Pet.2:5), something which Jude also predicted (Jude 14) and a good reason for that Flood would be the removal of these ‘nephilim’, who were a threat to the human race. Sadly, of course, the human race was also so corrupted it had to be destroyed too, but at least the ‘nephilim’ were gone. But when we come to Numbers 13:33 we find that the ‘nephilim’ are in the story again. How did they get there? Gen. 6:4 tells us “There were giants in the earth in those days (before the flood) and also after that . . .( that is, after the flood). It seems clear that after the Flood there was a second irruption of angels interbreeding with humans, only this time they were fewer in number (perhaps because of the consequences of their first attempt) and their area of contamination was limited to the land of Palestine. Apparently these giants were already occupying the land before Israel arrived, and, as the spies said when they returned to Moses: “There we saw the giants, (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight” (Num.13:33)

http://www.atozphotoshop.com/biblesite/Studies/ETagenda.htm Rig Veda - MAHABHARATA You ever heard of today what are called star children? People think that Gen. 6 is Torah is the only religious text to talk of beings from outside our earth coming to earth and having children with humans. They are wrong, the Hindu text talk of the beings from other planets coming here in their flying cars, that can go anywhere, mating with woman, thus how you get the godlike ones, the god-born ones.

The Mahabharata Book 3: Vana Parva Section CXV

Then the celestials and the saints of a rigidly virtuous life, met together, and thus spake to Vishnu, the god of gods, the slayer of demons, and possessed of prowess that never failed, saying. 'O blessed and revered lord, for the purpose of preserving all the born beings, it is necessary that Arjuna should be killed by thee.' And the mighty ruler of the Haihaya tribe placing himself on his celestial car, affronted Indra

The above is about wanting to kill Arjuna son of god Indra. They can be killed by each other, even by regular humans. They live on other planets, they fly in celestial cars that can go anywhere, they eat have sex, etc etc etc. It is most clear they are not gods in the sense of the English word.

“Religious legends of pre Inca people state that the universe was inhabited by ‘gods’ and celestial beings who arrived on earth from the Pleiades. In Bolivia, near Lake Titicaca, are the ruins of the megalithic city walls were constructed from blocks that weigh 60 tons which were further reinforced by metal clamps. Legends relate how it was built in one night by mysterious bearded white men who were giants from Taurus, the constellation of the Pleiades. They are also believed to have descended from the clouds and to have had sexual intercourse with Incan woman.”

Robert Stanley, Ets from the Pleiades, in Unicas Vol. 4, 1995, p. 26-27.

From India comes the Mahabharata and other ancient Sanskrit texts, which tell of gods begetting children with woman of earth, and how these children inherited the supernatural skills and learning of their fathers. A similar mythology is found in the Epic of Gilgamesh, where we read of watchers from outer space coming to planet Earth. Does this sound similar to Gen. 6?

this 120 years is not refering to how long man will live but it is refering to Gods long suffering of us
Jehovah’s long-suffering was seen in Noah’s day. Over a century before the Flood, "God saw the earth and, look! it was ruined, because all flesh had ruined its way on the earth." (Genesis 6:12) Still, for a limited time, Jehovah showed long-suffering toward mankind. He said: "My spirit shall not act toward man indefinitely in that he is also flesh. Accordingly his days shall amount to a hundred and twenty years." (Genesis 6:3) Those 120 years allowed faithful Noah time to produce a family and—when informed of God’s decree—to build an ark and warn his contemporaries of the coming Flood. The apostle Peter wrote: "The patience [a quality related to long-suffering] of God was waiting in Noah’s days, while the ark was being constructed, in which a few people, that is, eight souls, were carried safely through the water." (1 Peter 3:20) True, those outside Noah’s immediate household "took no note" of his preaching. (Matthew 24:38, 39) But by having Noah construct the ark and serve perhaps for several decades as "a preacher of righteousness," Jehovah offered Noah’s contemporaries ample opportunity to repent of their violent ways and turn to serving Him. (2 Peter 2:5; Hebrews 11:7) The eventual destruction of that wicked generation was fully justified

    Accordingly
his days shall amount to a hundred and twenty years.—Gen. 6:3.

Only 120 years more and Jehovah would bring "the deluge of waters upon the earth to bring to ruin all flesh in which the force of life is active from under the heavens." (Gen. 6:17) When Noah was informed, he wisely used the time to prepare for survival

The Neph´i·lim proved to be in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of the [true] God CONTINUED To have relations with the daughters of men and they bore sons to them, they were the mighty ones who were of old, the men of fame...... when genesis 6;4 says that the nephilim proved to be in the earth in those days and also after that ,it just means that they (continued) to have relations not that they were there before the angels came down. it was continuing to happen , the nephilim were there on the earth they had been born on the earth , and then because of the continued relationships going on before the flood , but then when the flood came it washed them all away .after the flood there were no more
    hybrid offspring.......... regarding numbers 13;33
And there we saw the Neph´i·lim, the sons of A´nak, who are from the Neph´i·lim; so that we became in our own eyes like grasshoppers, and the same way we became in their eyes numbers 13;33 this was when the ten spies were sent out to spy the land and they came back with a bad report which was carefully designed to strike terror and coarse panic

No doubt there were some large men in Canaan, as other scriptures show but they were not hybrid giants they were just big blokes or fellors

(Neph´i·lim) [Fellers; Those Who Cause [Others] to Fall Down]

(Deuteronomy 1:28) Where are we going up? Our brothers have caused our heart to melt, saying: "A people greater and taller than we are, cities great and fortified to the heavens and also the sons of the An´a·kim we saw there."’

(Deuteronomy 9:2) a people great and tall, the sons of An´a·kim, about whom you yourself have known and you yourself have heard it said, ‘Who can make a firm stand before the sons of A´nak?............. being tall does not make people hyrid offspring at that time they were just big

    The intrusion of certain angels into the human family resulted in unnatural offspring termed Nephilim, which derives from the Hebrew naphal (to fall), or the Fallen Ones. (The Greek Septuagint renders this term gigantes, which actually means "earth-born." This is often misunderstood to mean "giants"--which they also happen to have been, incidentally.) Numbers 13:3; Dueteronomy 3:11; Amos 2:9; 2 Samuel 21:15-22. Regarding the Nephilim, Genesis 6:4 also includes the haunting phrase, "...and also after that...." Apparently these strange events were not confined just to the period before the Flood. We find that there seems to be some recurrence of those things which resulted in unusual "giants" appearing in subsequent periods later in the Old Testament narrative, specifically the giant-races of Canaan. There were a number of tribes such as the Rephaim, the Emim, the Horim, and Zamsummim, that were giants. The kingdom of Og, the King of Bashan, was the "land of the giants." Later, we also find Arba, Anak, and his seven sons (the "Anakim") also as giants, along with the famed Goliath and his four brothers. When God had revealed to Abraham that the land of Canaan was to be given to him, Satan had over 400 years to plant his "mine field" of Nephilim! When Moses sent his twelve spies to reconnoiter the Land of Canaan, they came back with the report of giants in the land. (The term used was Nephilim.) Their fear of those terrifying creatures resulted in their being relegated to wandering in the wilderness for 38 years. When Joshua and the nation Israel later entered the land of Canaan, they were instructed to wipe out every man, woman and child of certain tribes. That strikes us as disturbingly severe. It would seem that in the Land of Canaan, there again was a "gene pool problem." These Rephaim, Nephilim, and others seem to have been established as an advance guard to obstruct Israel's possession of the Promised Land. The evidence of the nephilim after the flood is convinceing enough, there is no need to take their presence on earth after the flood as a descriptive term. The habits and physical descriptions of the nephilim in Number 13 is good enough to describe them as being large and fearsume. If they were not nephilim there was no need to call them that. By the simple reference of them being called the nephilim caused a riot within the Israelite community. These people knew who the nephilim were and I believe the spies that Moses sent out knew that any reference to them would cause much trouble! And it did! It would've been totally reckless on their part if they mearly meant to describe these being as something like the nephilim. Take notice that in Genesis 6:4 it says;
"There were giants in the earth in those days; "and also after that.."

These Giants show up "post flood" too!

There were a number of tribes such as the Rephaim, the Emim,
the Horim, and Zamzummim, that were giants.
Arba, Anak and his seven sons the "Anakim"
There were Giants in the Land of Canaan - the Canaanites
and some of the other "ites" in the Old Testament.
Goliath was probably the most well known giant.

Here are just some Bible References:

    1. > Num 13:33... the sons of Anak
      >
Deuteronomy 2:20-21 ... Land of Giants, Zamzummims
      >
Deuteronomy 3:11-13... Og king of Bashan - bedstead was 9 cubits in length
      >
Joshua 12:14 ... Og, Remnant of the giants
      >
Joshua 15:8 ... Valley of the giants
      >
      1 Samuel 17:4-7 ... Goliath - whose height was 6 cubits and a span
      >
      2 Samuel 21:16-22 ... Goliath's 4 brothers - One with 12 fingers & 12 toes
      >
1 Chronicles 20:5-8 ... More on the Sons of the giant in Gath That fact that these "Nephilim" kept showing up even post flood, seemingly trying to 'stay a step ahead' of where God would bring his people is a curiosity.

It makes you wonder if Satan's strategy was to pollute the human race with the intrusion of these evil creatures. Maybe in a lame attempt to prevent the Messiah - the Savior of the World - from being born?

"When God had revealed to Abraham that the land of Canaan was to be given to him, Satan had over 400 years to plant his "mine field" of Nephilim! (Genesis 15:13-21)

When Moses sent his twelve spies to reconnoiter the Land of Canaan, they came back with the report of giants in the land. (The term used was Nephilim.) (Numbers 13:33) Their fear of those terrifying creatures resulted in their being relegated to wandering in the wilderness for 38 years.

When Joshua and the nation Israel later entered the land of Canaan, they were instructed to wipe out every man, woman and child of certain tribes. That strikes us as disturbingly severe. It would seem that in the Land of Canaan, there again was a "gene pool problem." (Joshua 6:21; 9:24; 10:28, 39; 11:24; Deut 2:34; 7:2, 3; 20:16-17; et al. Cf. 1 Sam 15:3, 8, 18, 19; Ps 137:8, 9)

These Rephaim, Nephilim, and others seem to have been established as an advance guard to obstruct Israel's possession of the Promised Land. Was this also a stratagem of Satan?"

They were the superheroes of their day—feared, respected, and seemingly invincible
