As a joke, I made up some answers to the day's
test, & posted 3 on the blackboard. This was
an engineering course dealing with mechanical
design.
One was actually the correct answer to the
question. It was "up", the answer to a complex
deflection problem. This actually happened,
unlike many of my other "true" stories.

A quarter of your grade depends on it.

We're grading on a curve, so if you spell your name right that's an automatic pass.

Sorry I can't get it to go further to the right.

Not a test, but a friend who was a college professor assigned his class a paper on a scientific aspect of Rocks (It was earth science). It had to be a minimum of 4 pages. One of his students turned in a 4 page paper with this written on it, in very big letters to fill each page

Page 1
ROCKS
Page 2
ARE
Page 3
VERY
Page 4
HARD

And although, it made him laugh, and that is correct..... the student received an F on the paper
