I am seriously considering taking a hiatus from FB. While I appreciate the social networking and what-not, it's just too time consuming and I'm too attached to it. How should I go about doing it so I don't "cave-in"? Also, I'm wondering if anyone else has done this and what your results are?

After they changed my email - without asking - and after a whole bunch of other things, I just began thinking of it as a glorified chat room.

All I do with FB now, is log in, see if there's anyone to chat with - most of the time there isn't - and then log out.

Delete your account. I did, and it's great.

I cleaned my history, cookies and what ever else can be cleaned and forgot my login info. I think it's been about, I would say, 6 months since I've been on FB.
A lot less stress. It had gotten to this point.

Them: "Why are you so mean?"
Me: "Why are you so stupid?"
    Them: "Stop calling me!!"
Me: "Stop posting your phone number and I won't."
Them: "STAY OUT OF MY BUSINESS!!"
Me: "Stop posting your business and I'll stay out of it!"

I have tried, but there just some people I only commune with through FB, and my closest friends have our own FB group where we share interesting things. What happened to me was I always went back after realizing I was being stupid. If you're thinking this through, Facebook is way too important to you and you're going to fail.

I never spent a lot of time on FB. I send and receive gift in Fishville & Farmville if they're working. Then check friends' statuses, make a few witty comments, then I'm on to something more important.

There are a lot people who live on FB or at least hang out too much. I'd say giving it up is a bit extreme. Maybe make a list of your friends you need to check on and just look them up and be done with it.

My aunt, a friend I grew up with in Ohio and her youngest daughter, my sister-in-law and her bf, my cousin and her husband, my other cousin and her husband, my cousin and his wife, another friend from Ohio...
I could go on but I think that list is long enough
