Survey - Depression

Here is yet another survey. Again any help would be much appreciated. If you don't want to reveal such information in a post, please pm me.

Suppose that a recent personal event has put you in a depressed mood (e.g., an unexpectedly low grade on an exam, the breakup of a love relationship, or a quarrel with a close friend or relative). Which of the following activities you are likely to engage in when you are depressed? You may include as many that apply.

Sex:

Age:

Country:

1. Working on a hobby that takes concentration.

2. Writing in a diary about how you are feeling.

3. Getting away from everyone else to try to sort out your emotions.

4. Doing something with your friends.

5. Getting drunk.

6. Telling friends about how depressed you are.

7. Punching something.

8. Engaging in sports.

9. Writing a letter to someone describing your emotions.

10. Engaging in reckless behavior (e.g., driving 10 miles over the speed limit.)

11. Listening to music.

12. Making a list of the reasons you are sad or depressed.

I'd go with getting drunk and punching something. Although, I'm not sure of the validity of my response since I tend to do that when I'm happy as well.

Why is Ethnicity important. All all people in the same ethinic group the same. Each of us is an individual and for that matter. A person born in Mexico and living in mexico will think differently then a person born in Mexico living in the United states.

Why don't we ask county instead. People of different countries think differently.

Why don't we ask religion. People of different religions think differently.

Why don't we ask political party. Democrats and Republicans think differntly.

How about monetary class. Rich and poor think differntly.

Please Drop the ethnicity. It is not need and promotes bias thought.

Since depression is a physical disease as well as a mental illness, then all those remedies wouldn't work. If you feel bad about a grade, etc, then you feel bad- you don't necessarily have depression.

Those are the two I might do:

3. Getting away from everyone else to try to sort out your emotions.

10. Engaging in reckless behavior (e.g., driving 10 miles over the speed limit.)

(also, I might sit in my car or in the shower and cry.)
