My daughter and I watched The Summer of Soul last night. Here's the trailer....
It was an amazing film on multiple levels. Of course the music itself was fantastic, but the bigger messages about what was going on in black history and culture at the time were even more striking...that, plus how this "Black Woodstock" was completely ignored for 50 years.
I urge everyone to watch it.
