Stop Doing Flat Bench Presses!!!

MD

If that's true than it's extremely likely that your bench press one rep max was relatively low to begin with. Anyone who has invested a great deal of time and energy to make massive strength gains on the bench press would lose a great deal of it of they avoided weights for three months. Push-ups are great (and handstand push-ups are even better) but body weight exercises just don't compare to weight training when it comes to developing upper body and lower body strength.

Yeap it was very low

Vice versa for me, I was one of those upper body guys for a long time.

I'm short, 5' 5". Supposedly us shorties are better at lower body than upper body.

How's your back btw?

Coming along, thanks. I still get pain and probably always will. I'll never barbell squat and dl again, but I may be able to use the safety squat and trap bar deads. I'm dying to try kettlebell swings again. Those are awesome. :) Watching other people do them pains me more than my back does sometimes, if you know what I mean. It's like "Hey bro, I know a good orthopedic surgeon! 'Cuz youz iz gonna needz one with that form!"
