The PKK are a group of Kirdish people that the U.S. has dealt with in the past.

To be fair, getting mad at the U.S. for what the PKK does today seems like a stretch... We aren't on good terms with them right now.
It sounds like one of those situations where we're damned if we do, damned if we don't. We ought to just pull out of there completely and let all the factions fight it out amongst themselves.
I don't see how it's any good for US interests either way. It's not as if we'll get to keep the land our troops are fighting over.
