What does the church say about the angel Samael in its literature and teachings?

I am not a Catholic or Christian, but since no one replied, I thought I would. I haven't found much, if any mention of Samael in a Christian, let alone Catholic context. I posted two links in your Samael in Judaism thread, that would be of better help, I think. Samael for the most part of a Jewish figure. in Christianity, from my understanding, he is merely another name of Satan.
