Reincarnation in Christianity

No, but many claim certain statements in the Bible hint that people thought of it. It is definitely not clearly expressed.

isn't this elijah that john is referring to?

Matthew 11:14
And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.

and isn't paul referring to jesus as adam here?

1 Corinthians 15:45
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

and isn't jesus referring to himself as melchizedek here, when he appeared to abraham?

John 8:58
Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Yes, if you do an on-line search you can find quite a few such verses. There is no general belief in reincarnation though in Christianity although it is a fringe Christian view by some

No, Scripture doesn't teach transmigration of the soul. Only resurrection and judgment.
the word reincarnation wasn't coined until the mid 1800's.

Definitely.. Resurrection comes through rebirth.

I believe that is in error. A resurrection can be a re-incarnation as in the case of the resurrection of Jesus but no rebirth was necessary or it may be that the spirit has remained in the body when the body is resurrected but that does not require a rebirth either.

Fatalist. Christian. Pacifist.

I didn't state that rebirth was the only means of resurrection. It is however the most prevalent.

Jesus was an anomaly, in many respects. He was resurrected, but not reborn in that instance, according to the texts. Referred to by Paul as the 'last Adam', it is however accurate to say that the Son of Man, i.e. we are, Adam being reborn.

Only a handful of people were ever resurrected in their original bodies, according to the texts. We know today that people are literally resurrected on a daily basis, due to medical advances.
