Here's rule 10 in it's entirety:

*10. Discuss Individual Religions Forums
The DIR forums are for the express use for discussion by that specific group. They are not to be used for debate by anyone. People of other groups or faiths may post respectful questions to increase their understanding. Questions of a rhetorical or argumentative nature or that counter the beliefs of that DIR are not permitted. Only posts that comply with the tenets or spirit of that Dir are permitted. The DIR forums are strictly moderated and posts are subject to editing or removal.*

Please note that posting part of the rule and pretending that you didn't see the rest of the rule doesn't excuse you from having to abide by the whole rule.

Why would an atheist want to be ordained when it goes against their beliefs. After all ordainment suggests a God.

No it doesn't. You're assuming that ordainment has some connection to theism. It does not. My wife and I wanted a celebratory marriage, with family present and all, in the wilderness, and specifically with no aspect of church or god or any of that nonsense anywhere in sight. We found an ordained Humanist, Kathy Meidell, who is legally registered to marry couples in Ontario. It was great. It looked just like a normal wedding (well, sort of - it was a wilderness wedding, and we wore earth colours, not black and white) with our family present. It was done at dusk by firelight with a bird rehab center nearby. We loved it, and we would not have been able to do it without a registered Humanist.

Marriage is a religious institution not a secular one.

If that were so, atheists wouldn't get married. They do.

If it were a religious institution then the government wouldn't even keep track of who gets married as it wouldn't matter to them.

If it were a religious institution whose religion does it "belong" to and who gets to determine what it entails?

If it "belongs" to just one religion then why do people of all religions all over the world get married?

Now, if you really want to debate any of this then start a thread about it. I'll be happy to prove you wrong in it.

Marriage is just some social/cultural ritual. There is no magical cosmic bond, and it doesn't require some hocus pocus invisible sky daddy to validate it.
