I don't believe I would have any trouble worshipping on the temple mount.
There's the problem, not of praying, but following the Law code, priests, high priests, and of course animal and other sacrifices there...Can't be done now, can it? (No.) Anyone can pray anywhere and at any time, but things like idolatry is not considered acceptable by the God of Moses, Isaac and Jacob. Also Jesus gave instructions on how to pray and what to pray for -- also sometimes known as the "Our Father" prayer.
