That's interesting. It's nothing like ordinary sorrel, a red-veined variety of which I'm trying to grow at the moment for culinary purposes. It seems to be an entirely different family: oxalis instead of rumex.

The wood sorrel we have here in Maine doesn't get the same red hue. We also have sheep's sorrel which has an absolutely different shape but tastes the same.
