My thought about that is very simple.
Random things happen all the time in statistically neutral frequency.
We remember the "amazing coincidences", both positive and negative, and we tend to forget the many more neutral outcomes.
We then brand the positive ones "good luck" or "divine intervention" and we label the negative ones as "bad luck" or "curses".
Luck doesn't exist. Probabilities exist. And "improbable" things happen all the time.
A probability of 1 in a million, means that it will happen 1000 times if you get a billion tries.
So in a nutshell, my thoughs on "luck" are in effect that it demonstrates that people (including myself) have psychological problems with the "law of big numbers" in our day to day lives.
