JW's Preach A Different Gospel

"jeager106, post: 4357557, member: 43613"]"Lying" is a very strong and incorrect word to use in a discussion.
Many denominations preach their denomination in the only "right one".
My dear uncle was a deacon and lay preacher for a Church of Christ.
This denomination believed playing music in church was a sin. (beats me why?)
Uncle also believed all other denominations were destined to hell fire and
eternal torment.
Years later I attended a Church of Christ that had a band in that church.
A different denomination of the Church of Christ. (there are many)
In this C.of C. they believed all other denominations were destined to
burn in hell for ever. Go figure

I don't judge whether anyone is saved or not saved. I judge their teachings.

You, obviously can't tell the difference.

Watchtower is preaching that Jesus's second coming occurred in 1914. That is false teaching.

What you mean is you haven't been baptized into the organization yet, right? Do you agree with their teachings?

The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, commonly known as the Jehovah's Witnesses, claims to be the faithful and discreet slave spoken of in Matt. 24:42-46
As "The faithful and discreet slave" it claims that only its organization is capable of rightly understanding God's word: "Only this organization functions for Jehovah's purpose and to his praise. To it alone God's Sacred Word, the Bible, is not a sealed book (Watchtower, July 1, 1973, p. 402).

The Jehovah's Witnesses are certainly zealous for their beliefs, but they are misguided in those beliefs. The Watchtower Organization, including all the Jehovah's Witnesses, is not the faithful and discreet slave spoken of by Jesus in Matt. 24:42-46. The faithful and discreet slave is simply all who are true Christians.

A faithful slave of God does not make false prophecies

Dismantling the Watchtower claim that it is the faithful and discreet slave is easy. All we need to do is look at the track record of the Watchtower as an organization and see if it has been faithful. Consider the following false prophecies made by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society over the years:

1899 " . . . the 'battle of the great day of God Almighty' (Revelation 16:14), which will end in A.D. 1914 with the complete overthrow of earth's present rulership, is already commenced," (The Time Is at Hand, 1908 edition, p. 101).
1918 "Therefore we may confidently expect that 1925 will mark the return of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the faithful prophets of old, particularly those named by the Apostle in Hebrews 11, to the condition of human perfection," (Millions Now Living Will Never Die, p. 89).
1922 "The date 1925 is even more distinctly indicated by the Scriptures than 1914," (Watchtower, Sept. 1, 1922, p. 262).
1923 "Our thought is, that 1925 is definitely settled by the Scriptures. As to Noah, the Christian now has much more upon which to base his faith than Noah had upon which to base his faith in a coming deluge," (Watchtower, Apr. 1, 1923, p. 106).
1931 "There was a measure of disappointment on the part of Jehovah's faithful ones on earth concerning the years 1917, 1918, and 1925, which disappointment lasted for a time . . . and they also learned to quit fixing dates," (Vindication, p. 338).
1941 "Receiving the gift, the marching children clasped it to them, not a toy or plaything for idle pleasure, but the Lord's provided instrument for most effective work in the remaining months before Armageddon," (Watchtower, Sept. 15, 1941, p. 288).
1968 "True, there have been those in times past who predicted an 'end to the world,' even announcing a specific date. Yet nothing happened. The 'end' did not come. They were guilty of false prophesying. Why? What was missing? . . . Missing from such people were God's truths and evidence that he was using and guiding them," (Awake, Oct. 8, 1968).
I agree with the final quote in the Awake magazine. The previous false prophecies of the Watchtower organization demonstrate that it is lacking God's truths. If it is, then it is not the faithful and discreet slave.
Charles Taze Russell was called the Faithful and Discreet Slave
Apparently, Charles Taze Russell, the founder of the Jehovah's Witnesses, was called the "faithful and discreet slave."
Thousands of readers of Pastor Russell's writings believe that he filled the office of 'that faithful and wise servant' and that his great work was giving to the household of faith meat in due season. His modesty and humility precluded him from openly claiming this title, but he admitted as much in private conversation, (Watchtower Dec. 1, 1916, p. 357).
Which is it? Is the Watchtower right or wrong about Russell? Given that it has made many errors in the past in its prophecies which proves it does not speak for God, it seems clear that the Watchtower Organization is clearly not the "faithful and discreet slave" mentioned by Jesus. A slave of God would not go around changing its doctrines, making false prophecies, or attempting to control the thinking of its people. The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is not the faithful and discreet slave.

How easy is it for mortal man to undo 1750 years of false teachings??? It takes years of hard study by many men. thus errors would occur, as well they only had error filled trinity translations to go by.

A real false prophecy= heaven or hell as ones end.
Jesus taught--Matt 5:5--Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth
The Psalmist--The righteous will possess the earth and reside forever upon it
so what do the teachers of heaven or hell as ones end do with those 2 truths--throw them away? they do not teach them.

Har-mageddon a real prophecy made by God--error= putting a date on it.

Making corrections to errors--proves 100% truth is what they seek.

Its called the presence--Matt 24:37--1Cor 15:23-- 2Peter 3:4---- it occurred here at rev 6--you see he receives his crown--the first ride of the white horse( righteous war) = the war in heaven-1914
You see many events come after this until the 2nd ride of the white horse at Harmageddon.
Gods kingdom took control of heaven-1914) Gods kingdom will take full control of the earth-post Har-mageddon.

They said truth. God never had more than a single religion, one truth, one faith, one God, one religion. a worldwide brotherhood, united in love, peace and thought( 1Cor 1:10)
NWT says at 18--- until the day is firmly established--(the day of Jehovah)( old nwt) the new one says-- until full daylight.---but both carry the same meaning--- and along with Daniel 12:4 and Matt 24:45 like I explained--the JW teachers are correct.

see the path of the righteous shines brighter and brighter( light of truth)

Please explain Proverbs 4:10-19 if you can, in context, and show me how verse 18 says the "LIGHT OF TRUTH" gets brighter. Please "READ" Proverbs 4:10-19

However, a further consideration of Jesus’ prophecy indicates that an adjustment in our understanding of the timing of certain aspects of Jesus’ prophecy is needed. Why so?

JW's just eat this kind of talk up, don't they? Why didn't they further consider it 100 years ago before they started teaching it as "TRUTH" from God?

This is Watchtower's false teaching!

Jesus warned about people who would claim Jesus came.

Matthew 24:23
"Then if anyone says to you, 'Behold, here is the Christ,' or 'There He is,' do not believe him.

EVERY EYE WILL SEE HIM!

Rev. 1:7
"Look, he is coming with the clouds," and "every eye will see him, even those who pierced him"; and all peoples on earth "will mourn because of him." So shall it be! Amen.

So, if the "PATH OF LIGHT" means knowledge gets brighter, what does,

Pro 4:14 (ESVST) 14 Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of the evil.

Pro 4:19 (ESVST) 19 The way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know over what they stumble. mean to you?

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. -Matthew 5:5
"This verse proves there is a class of Christians who will reside forever upon the earth instead of going to heaven," a Jehovah's Witness may assert.
Even The Watchtower did not interpret it that way. Which Declares, "Jesus is the principal Inheritor of the earth" and that heaven-bound "'joint heirs with Christ"will share in Jesus' inheritance of the earth." (The Watchtower February 1, 1978, page 29)
So, even the JW leadership admits that Matthew 5:5 applies principally to persons going to heaven. However, some sect members mistakenly use the verse.
An ordinary human king can inherit a realm to rule over without having to reside there. For example, at the height of the British Empire a newly crowned sovereign inherited rulership over Canada, India, and African colonies, but ruled them from a throne in England. Similarly, the meek "inherit the earth" as joint heirs with Christ in his heavenly kingship.
Jehovah's Witnesses who understand this may still turn to Matthew 5:5 and argue, "What point would there be in Christ and his heavenly joint heirs ruling over an empty planet? There must be human inhabitants who will live forever on earth." In responding to this argument we need not pretend to know all the details of God's future plans for this planet--just the clear message of the New Testament that Christians will end up with Christ, where he is, to behold his glory. (John 17:24) The resurrected and glorified Christ appeared many times on earth, even enjoying a seaside meal of cooked fish, so Christians raised to heavenly life in his image might be expected to have similar access to the earthly realm of the heavenly Kingdom.
Thus, Matthew 5:5 offers no biblical basis for claiming as JWs do that followers of Christ would be divided into classes with two different hopes--some earthly and some heavenly. The Bible sets out "one hope" for believers. (Ephesians 4:4)
For further study visit:
Will humans live forever on this planet earth?
And humans have a soul inside the body and Hell is real.
First of all, when one dies, his soul exists after the body dies. Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 5:6 that we prefer to be absent from the body and at home with the Lord. In Matthew 10:28 Jesus states, “Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” So there is such thing as a soul that survives the body. Hell is a real place. In Luke 16:19-31 Jesus tells the story of Lazarus and the rich man. JW’s will say this is a parable. Even if it is a parable, it still tells a story about what is true. What does the story symbolize? Their explanation is not consistent with the text at all.

Yes it does! It says the "PATH" of the "RIGHTEOUS" gets brighter. Its says nothing of the "LIGHT OF TRUTH". The way the righteous should walk gets brighter and brighter!

To expound on this,

Rev 6:9-10 (ESVST) 9 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne. 10 They cried out with a loud voice, "O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?"

If the soul is the body, and they were slain, (dead) how did they "cry out with a loud voice"?

I just realized what you said. You're claiming that that verse says, "the path of light gets brighter"?

Pro 4:18 (ESVST) 18 But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day.

Clearly you are trained to see what the GB tells you something says. That verse "CLEARLY" says, "THE PATH OF THE RIGHTEOUS" is like the dawn, it gets brighter. Not the path of light!

Every eye did see him, they just didn't know it. You weren't there, but every one alive saw satan cast to the earth and he came as a devouring lion, angry, knowing his time was short, he thusly filled mens hearts with hatred all over the earth and they began slaughtering one another--millions died out of hatred--the false religious teachers allowed the young men of the same religion( supposed brothers in Christ) to stand on both sides and blow each others heads off while the teachers prayed to the same god on both sides( pure hipocrosy) pure darkness) while The JW teachers applied Jesus and refused to let the young men kill each other standing on both sides--they were branded cowards for standing up for Jesus. But the real reason satan did that was to try and stop the preaching of the good news of Gods kingdom that had begun--it worked until 1919 then came back in full force--he tried again at ww2. The same results as the first ww. They even killed their own brothers in Christ for Adolf Hitler( doesn't get any darker than this)
Gods kingdom was established in heaven in 1914( Rev 6) he received his crown)

That's like allowing the young brothers in Christ to stand on both sides of a war of hatred( the rev war, the civil war, ww1,ww2)( pure evil) for patriotism and then praying to the same God on both sides( pure hipocrosy)--it doesn't get much darker.

Your saying the New World Translation has no errors? My dear friend, the NWT is even deceptive in what it does to the Bible. Just consider just this one thing (but believe me, there's more).
The New World Translation renders Luke 23:43, "And he said to him: 'Truly I tell you today, you will be with me in Paradise.'" This is contrast to most, if not all other translations which render the verse: "Truly I say, Today you will be with me in Paradise."
It is helpful to observe how the phrase "Truly I say to you" is used elsewhere in Scripture. This phrase, which translates the Greek words "amen soy lego" occurs 74 times in the Gospels and is always used as an introductory expression. It is somewhat similar to the Old Testament phrase "Thus says The Lord." Jesus used this phrase to introduce a truth that was very important.
In 73 out of 74 times the phrase occurred in the Gospels, the New World Translation places a break (such as a comma) immediately after the phrase, "Truly, I tell you." Luke 23:43 is the only occurrence of this phrase in which the New World Translation does not place a break after it. Why? Because if a break, such as a comma, was placed after "Truly I say to you" the word "today" would then belong to the second half of the sentence, indicating that "today" the thief would be with Jesus in Paradise. But this would go against Watchtower theology. Hence they relocated the comma.
Any Jehovahs Witness can see for themselves by looking at all the "Truly I say to you" phrases Jesus said and that in only one place does the NWT not put it directly after the phrase. One must wonder why?
"Truly I say to you today" does not even make good sense: it would have been needless to say, "Today, I am telling this to you." Of course He was! What other day would He have been speaking to the thief on? Jesus never added the word 'today' when speaking to anyone. Would Jesus ever say anything so redundant?
This thief believed that Jesus would eventually come into His Kingdom at the end of the world. He therefor asked to be remembered by Jesus at that time. Jesus' reply however, promised him more than he had asked for: "Today (not just at the end of the world) you will be with me in Paradise."
It is clear that Luke 23:43 argues strongly against the Watchtower position that there is no immaterial nature that consciously survives death. As true with other Bible verses, a thorough look at the text unmasks the Watchtower deception.
