the fact jesus was born, is the greatest sign of god's love. god created us and he didn't abandon us to our fates. he sent his only son so that we can be saved from our evil self and he gave meaning to our lives, that is living good so that we will enter the kingdom that will come. how can anyone reject jesus and his message of love?
Because I learned throughout my years that if I depended on someone else to "save me" I'd never learn more about myself apart from feeling I owe gratitude for my being saved. So, it is an issue of how comfortable you are with yourself. Can you function in the world without a guide? If not, than someone who believes in god would benefit more than someone who does not see a need for salvation for his or her sins.
Another reason is the mind controls what the heart experiences. Everything we perceive as spiritual is all interpretations from our minds. So, if one person feels trapped in this world and cannot honestly "think for himself" by default, they would want someone else to think for him. It's natural since we've been like that since infants.
It is also natural to have the tendency to "find oneself" in mid point of our lives. If he or she is willing to meditate on the change in life and how that person influences change to make better causes in the future; if that person can trust themselves and training themselves to see situations and experiences more healthy-and know it is not forever-there is no need for the god you speak of.
Another reason is to those of us who know no god exist, we can only reject something that exist not what or who is written or said to us second and third hand. A lot of us do not believe jesus is god so it is easier to reject a person with a claim than a person who does not exist who, in christianity and like religions, does not speak for himself only through prophets and/or jesus.
Another thing is I read the full bible and find no healthy meaning in it to apply it to my life regardless if it is a self-help book or religious book. It does not click. So, if something does not "click" with the person, why would a christian expect that person's eyes to see as if he was blind to himself his whole life? Some of us know we are blind because we do not know and can admit do not know everything that is about life. So, even to say god exists is making a huge claim
if god actually does exist. It means, christians are playing god.
But you have to
know god exists in order to reject his existence.
Also, a lot of people have messages of love. I don't know anyone who loves me in the manner I see married people love each other. I rather experience and know love in this life than shifting time period of B.C. era with me as if history influenced the validity of something I only
know second hand.
If anything, the further back we go, the more we do not know. It is alright to make personal the events and people of the past. At the end, your mind is interpreting your present experiences. Your experiences are giving you confirmed bias of the past. The bible is confirming those experiences. Now you find a need to spread it because experiences
are real but not all experiences need to be based on fact in order for it to be beneficial.
