Matthew 5:14-16
Matthew 15:14-20
Jesus is an Archetype, not a person.
It is relevant. Jesus didn't "teach" anything, HE didn't exist.irrelevant, this thread isn't about what jesus was/isn't in context to character
never were truer words spoken. they want to idolize or flatter for quid pro quo profitIf he did, Christians haven't pick up on in 2,000 years of history.
and yet you're here and doing it again. this thread isn't about disputing if jesus was real or just a fictional character. the mailperson isn't relevant; if you're getting the mail. so whether you like the mail, or not, the mail is what you got. you got a bible, you got characters in the bible, you got underlying themes, whether the characters are real, unreal, archetypes, or anthropomorphized beings . you can still have an underlying moral ideal. It is relevant. Jesus didn't "teach" anything, HE didn't exist.

Some have, but not many. I think that goes with what he taught too, about how few find the way.If he did, Christians haven't pick up on in 2,000 years of history.
If he is an archetype, as you said, that most definitely is teaching people something. That's what archetypes do.It is relevant. Jesus didn't "teach" anything, HE didn't exist.

Enlightenment in what sense? Certainly not in the Buddhist sense.

god, love above all, is the most important thang.No. Jesus doesn't advocate for materialism, reason or humanism. To Jesus the most important things are God and faith in Him. Kindness to others, is his second rule and that kindness isn't an act of pro-social reason based on the material benefit of others and culture itself, but an act of faith. Jesus is an obscurantist by excellence.
What's being "saved" have to do with the mystical experience?Simple answer, yes. Salvation = Enlightenment.

and jesus may never have used the term humanism but he said what you do unto the least of these you do unto me. that is humanism.
