Aupmanyav
Be your own guru
It does not mean that I do not love and respect the Vedas. My grandfather wrote two books on RigVeda. Probably, I hail from the people who had RigVeda as their religious scripture (being a Kashmiri brahmin of Upamanyu gotra). I consider RigVeda to be at least 6000 years old and perhaps reaching into antiquity as old as the ice-ages (20,000 BP). But my people merged into Hinduism and are its inseparable parts. Just as the indigenous people accepted my scriptures and Sanskrit, my forebears wholly accepted the Gods and Goddesses, and ways of life of the indigenous people of India without any reservation. We mixed with them 'as Sugar mixes in milk', and it has been a wonderful story since then.
