Yeah, heard about it on my Facebook but in Arabic. My source also says she belongs to the Sunnah group. I wonder if that is the real reason behind it.

This is sad :(

I suppose this should shut up all those liberals who defend the Iranian regime

honestly...I don't think that there is one normal Westerner that would defend the Iranian regime.
The modernization of the country would have been possible through a civilized and open-minded family like the Pahlavi.

This is an extremely sad case, and the death penalty should be abandoned around the world, including in American States....... yes?

Most sadly, Ms Jabbari admitted in evidence that she stabbed Morteza Abdolali Sarbandi in the back with a knife that was proved to have been purchased two days before. Obviously this didn't help the defence's plea that Morteza Abdolali Sarbandi was trying to sexually abuse her.

It says the execution was carried out after Sarbandi's family refused to pardon Jabbari or accept blood money.
Obviously this code is part of Iran's ancient lore and where a convict will not be pardoned by the victim's family then the sentence is carried out.

Many people in Europe find the American States' practices of killing convicts slowly with inadequate techniques to be quite as barbaric as anything found in the middle or far east.

All very sad.

Capital punishment by the state is a primitive form of Barbarism. Any nation that still has it on its books has a long way to go before they can be recognized as a mature society. Outstanding among these is the USA, who by most other measures should have grow out of that stage by now.

Cheers

Where else but Americastan would government employees be so inept that
they fail at even trying to kill someone strapped down & unable to move?
Given that they spend a vast fortune on the process, they should contract it
out to me. For a fraction, I could make it quick & humane, with a money
back guarantee.

Yeah. Unfortunately we have a very hard time wrapping our minds around the idea of "not sinking to their level," refusing to acknowledge the price tag of a state execution is more than life imprisonment, and extended the "sanctity of life" beyond the womb. We also don't like to acknowledge people sometimes end up in the wrong place at the wrong time, make mistakes, and can be victims of circumstance. We also tend to have bitter opposition towards the state, with many of this same group giving the state full support to kill.

It is not evil. The headline is. The American media is.

Because they claim that it was a "self defense". Whereas it was a planned murder.

You can learn about it here:

Really?

Wow! Saudis want to execute Ayatollah Nimr because he is a shia. But they would comment on a murderer in Iran and claim that she was killed because she supposedly was a sunni? No, she was not sunni.

And, nope, in Iran, unlike in Saudi, minorities are not persecuted. But the media is so sick to portray things different. When, let's say, Islamic Iran fights against drug-traffickers in borders, and punishes terrorists of Jaish al-Adl, the headlines go like: "Iran persecutes sunnis". When, Iran fight against smuggling and illegal-transpassing in Turkey burder, the headlines go like: "Iran fights against Turks". No, Iran does not. But, Islamophobics/Iranophobics do try to portray things different.

I am against death penalty because I am a Christian. But let's not forget that in those countries innocent people like apostates and gays are executed. here we are comparing gay guys to Jack the ripper. It's absurd!

I thought death penalty is there in the Bible.

As for apostates and gays, the male ones are not executed unless they make it public and spread propaganda and take physical actions against the state. The female ones are never executed in shia Islam. Thus, it is something about taking physical action against and causing harm and treason to the state. However, there are so-called "Islamic States" which do not apply these rules. But that is a different issue.

well...actually we Christians believe in the New Testament.
Jesus said: "whatever you did to the least of these brothers and sisters, you did to me".
so...killing a human being, even if it deals with a serial killer, it means to kill Jesus.

So help me........ I have no clue as to how people could gather, think carefully about, spend out so much money for, and then screw up over....... what was a bad idea in the first place.

Given that they spend a vast fortune on the process, they should contract it out to me. For a fraction, I could make it quick & humane, with a money back guarantee.
Heath Robinson could have devised the most interesting and circuitous 'fairground type' train ride for the perpetrator, showing aspects of the crime(s) committed, with on-ride refreshments and medications delivered to the shackled convict, and culminating in the barbiturate saturated deceased being delivered back to the rows of witnesses with smile on face, and holding in still hand an enormous cheque for the relatives of the nearly forgotten victim(s) from 20 years before...... for less bloody money than spent.... !
