I tend more towards classical than ancient, although there are weird pockets of time I'm interested in and study all over the place...lol
what is the difference?
Between classical and ancient?

I think it might be the time period, but I am not sure

Yes, time period is the simple difference.
Classical refers more to specific areas of the globe though, rather than 'just' a time period.

So Greece and Rome with the associated focus on Republicanism, Democracy, etc is the main focus of Classical history.

If you studied China in the same time period, or Meso-America, it's not 'Classical'.
