All this demonstrates is how lost some people can get, and then how easy it is to blame others for the way their life turned out.

None of what is stated is even close to the truth....but is a completely distorted version from a muddled mind.

It is very good to think about who we are serving....the Shepherd knows who belongs to him.....and they are not label wearers.

Explaining my past congregations and the flaws of the congregations that only have about 30 people in them.. In a few towns around here. Elders DO see themselves as councillors.. Orr "Shepards" to the overly religious folks..
They go to people's houses and discuss what is wrong with the family, sometimes to resolve problems to help you get out more converting for them. Don't forget to bring that adorable little kid to the door.. Who should be in regular school. Or private. I grew up a JW knowing nothing about science, or other religions, all I knew was the ties I had with these people. I couldn't escape.. My mom forced me to tell the elders my plans of leaving the congration and I never even got baptised!
My grandma had Cancer 5 times due to mostly the stress my grandfather put on her for being an elder.. Children in my congragion were getting MOLESTED... And the elders just asked me where it happened.. "Where did he touch you?".. In a small room in the back of the hall, ITS NONE OF THEIR BUISNESS. They don't tell police or alourities because they don't want to "inflict the name of Jehovah.." They DO act like police in most cases, hiding cases and dealing with them themselves.. On Halloween a few people from our hall used to guard outside so people didn't trash the place because once your out.. You realize how trapped and lost you really are in what you are brain washed to say is "truth"..

No witnessing to me Deeje or I'll get my pit bull on you! Haha but seriously don't start calling me a "lost sheep" because I'm a wolf.. I'm in college working towards University and I'm cutting all my ties with cults or small, odd "organizations".. I still pray! Perhaps there is even a creator.. If I do need to pray I say it openly, almost to the universe :)

A goat? @Sammy420

Dear Sammy, I realize that forum is as far away from college as a person might get, but it wouldn't hurt to proofread what you write. It is good practice, I think.

And university. I am not knocking you. I suck at spelling most of the time, but I have spell check. And the very annoying grammar check. (I don't know how to get rid of it.)

I find JW to be sincere and polite and generally pretty friendly.
I don't see eye to eye with them on many of their positions
Sometimes it feels like they are overly coached on some passages interpretation instead of going their the passage leads.

I find their holding onto view like their 'anonymously' translated version is the best translation in history hard to defend. It would be hard to convince me that view isn't problematic. I am more in favor of the view of 'the priesthood of believers' living in good conscience before God such as protestants would take and I feel is the Biblical view of Peter.

At the congregation I was the last time I went to meetings, there was a woman who was married to an elder and she was a pioneer (that is their word for uber dedicated Jehovah's Witnesses who go door to door preaching the most). I had thought that she was sincere and polite but one day in the field service I mentioned to her that there is no real proof that righteous persons who lived before Jesus died won't ever go to heaven. OMG. That woman had been hiding something all those years. She no longer looked to be sincere and polite. I was shocked! Now I think it is funny and kind of sad at the same time.

To be fair, they will say there is proof that the dead* before Jesus can't ever go to heaven.

John 3:13
No one has ascended into heaven except the One who descended from heaven, the Son of Man

Acts 2:34
For David did not ascend into heaven, but he himself says: 'The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand

I think that is all they have. So I say, "can Jehovah not raise someone from the dead to heaven?"

I understand that when they died before Jesus made the way to heaven at that time they did not ascend. They JWs teach that because they did not ascend when they died, they will never ascend to heaven.......and many people believe them!

all the people who died before Jesus died and that would include John the Baptist.

I am sure they use Matthew 11:11 to try to prove it but here, try this on.

Verily I say to you, there hath not risen, among those born of women, a greater than John the Baptist, but he who is least in the reign of the heavens is greater than as great as he is.

It is sad! They are in denial. I cry for my mother who stresses out about service all the time. Charles is a terrible man who started this campaign to make his money. Now it's ruining lives and taking them too! I know of a guy who was in his 20s.. He jumped off a bridge on the phone to his mother. They were JW, apparently he felt he couldn't live up to standards as other people have and yea..

The accounts of the suicides of Jehovah's Witnesses are for the most part true. People like @Deeje will write them off as mentally ill souls and that the Watchtower has had nothing to do with such tragedies. That is them loving a lie.
They keep forgetting what is written that Jesus said," But whoever stumbles one of these little ones who have faith in me, it would be better for him to have hung around his neck a millstone that is turned by a donkey and to be sunk in the open sea."

Well exactly.. Most JW well around 70% actually are mentally ill. JW tell you it's demons though.. Atleast my mother used to tell me the demons would make me feel different in my head.. Turns out I have pycopathic tendencies and talking about "demons" and the way JW's live in fear (of Armageddon or Satan the devil) is no way for me..

Why...its what Jesus did...was he annoying? I guess he was to those who didn't want to listen to him....

You people are not Jesus OR ANY PART of his apostles.. Anyone imitating so should be banned.. It's just rude.. Russia knows what I'm talking abou, banning them for being extremists, and doing what I have been explaining; causing mental illness, death from no blood transfusions, family and mostly teens being abandoned by parents who only have the bibles rules. (Kid leaves, ends up doing drugs, on the street) parents still going door to door.. Did nothing to help, all they had to do was research in what they were worshipping.. Sad.

I am adopted, father is neo nazi mother was abused by him.
I was adopted at 2 to a JW couple.
Dad left the organization and us when I was 9. (Didn't hear from him for 5 years)
Mom told me horrible stories about people who leave the group probably to scare me from leaving. She'd say I'd become a prostitute or "women trafficking". And do terrible drugs and stuff.
She said some people went up north to go door to door and since they weren't allowed guns one of the girls was going to the washroom and a bear pulled her off by her feet and ate her feet up, the others could only through rocks. She tells me terrible stories like this all the time! She wants to Move to the Dominican Republic to live and go door to door..
So 16 years I spent as a JW (now 20) and I still feel disturbed. 3 of my friends also left the congregation.. They didn't turn out so well though, stripper, prostitute, and the others got a pimp..
I know of 4 ex JW's who committed suicide. And 1 JW I know died from the no blood transfusions.. My mom actually had a little white card with a blood drop on it that said "No Blood" in case she got in a accident. My experience with the elders handling sex abuse is also rediculious.. Not 1 authority was told.. Although I guess I should have done more then telling an old elder at the age of 5..

Charles Taze Russell - Wikipedia I left once I did some research on Charles (Founder) and found out who he really is.. Look at his marriage.. Look at his grave.. (Pyramid..) The "Allegations of immoral conduct" The miracle wheat. And of course read the use of Masonic symbolism..

I love my mom and my family. They are just so out of this world and it's not mentally healthy.. Atleast that's what my psychiatrist said..

My wife had been a Jehovah’s Witness for about 10 years. They made her go door to door witnessing. She doesn’t have an outgoing personality, so in the end she had a nervous breakdown. They didn’t seem to understand that not everyone witnesses for their faith in the same way. For the Witnesses, they have to work for their salvation. The problem is you can never be sure when you have worked enough to be saved. Thankfully she is now saved and goes to a caring church. Certainty for eternity.

God's witnesses are the only people I've ever known who obey every law, treat everyone with love and respect, and who obey all of God's will. They are the only ones who don't cheat on their time cards or taxes, who don't roll through stop signs, or cut people off on the road. they're the only ones I've ever known who help anyone who needs it, and who never lie, and who never treat anyone as being less than they are. They're the only ones I've ever known who know the entire inspired word of God, cover to cover, and who obey it, and who preach it accurately to everyone whom they are able. They don't adhere to the lies of religions of man, and who don't do anything pagan as all other religions do. And I do mean all other religions.

The kids at school used to envy my son who got gifts all year round just because we wanted to give them to him. He never had to wait for a birthday or Christmas. "Sad people"? You've got to be kidding!

We have parties too, for no particular reason...we don't need an excuse.....and we don't need to get drunk to enjoy ourselves.

What is the difference here? Because a present is given on a particular day, it's evil? We can't honor our child or mother or father or siblings on a certain day because it's evil, but we can make our child the "envy" of his/her school because we give him/her gifts all year long? That doesn't seem too Christian like!

I don't celebrate my daughters birthday, it just so happens that on that day I give her a present and we have a party, "just because we want to", does that make it ok? I don't tell her "happy birthday" but I do tell her that she is the best "gift" that God has ever given me and that I love her and that she is a very important part of my life. Does that make it ok?

That is right. Holidays are worldly affairs and Christians are to be "no part of the world". They are right about that, but they bring it to the extreme. I think it means we are not to love and to keep those things. Love is what nurtures. If bad things would please stop being nurtured they would die a natural death. People keep them alive, though. For what?

So is buying gas for your car. So is paying for internet and cable. By you paying for internet and cable, you are supporting all the porn and nasty stuff that are included. Just because you 'might not' watch it, doesn't mean you are not supporting it. Everyone that pays for it is supporting it. No one can live in this world and "not be part of the world"! If satan is the god of this world and controls everything in it, every time you buy an apple, every time you pay you electric bill, every time you buy a tank of gas, you are a part of this world, because you are supporting "this system of things"!
