To be fair CP, I wouldn't feel comfortable posting the address and phone number of my church on an internet forum. We should respect people's privacy.

all Christians are hypocrites. if I understand hypocrite to be someone that says one thing but does another. the bible says we are suposed to be holy, as a christian I am not holy.I can not live like the bible says but I press on to the goal, trying to do better.and on eating jesus said its not what goes in a man that defile him but what comes from within him. paul said food is nothing . food is so you wont die... romans 7 verse 3 says you can remarry.

If your spouse dies, gzusfrk:

3So then, if she marries another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress, even though she marries another man.

Matthew 9:19:
I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery.”

I agree that all Christians are hypocrites. However, is that a good thing? Shouldn't you be trying not to be? Are you actually trying to argue that Christ does not prohibit divorce and remarriage? If so, you have not a leg to stand on regarding homosexuality. How can you interpret Paul's ambiguous words one way, and Christ's unambiguous words another?

you said every thing right I dont see a problem.....maybe one part christ lets us know our limits to what we can do.like matthew 9:19. hypocrite is not good, but I have only heard of one man, paul, that ever reached the goal ,had become perfect.but I am not paul so I continue trying to live like jesus says.so I guess I will be a hypocrite, but I will be the first to say I am a sinner.big time I do know what the word says ..But I cant live it. I can only try

O.K., so gzusfrk, you agree that it's wrong to oppose homosexuality while sanctining divorce and remarriage, correct? Remarriage is completely prohibited, not in any way permitted, in Christianity. Lesbianism is fine, and male homosexuality we're not sure, depending on translation, but divorce and remarriage we're completely sure--can't do it. So my question to you is, what are you planning to do about it? What is your plan to stop being a hypocrite and start following Jesus, as you say you do?

I'll say it again roman 7:3 says you can remarry I thought we had that cleared up.

You know, you never did clear up that issue with God saying that naughty people are an abomination as well. It seems that God labeled all kinds of things as abominations and today we say, oh well he he didn't really mean it in these cases but with gay folks he did. Looks to me like you're just looking for an excuse to hate gays rather than having any actual evidence.

Oh, yes, I forgot about your posting. Please repeat your point again, your point about a relationship between naughty, homosexuality and abomination.

As far as I know reading the bible, God didn't say that stealing is an abomination to Him, unless you find such a specific verse so I can check the entire context.

Best wishes.

You're wrong. Romans 7:3 says you can remarry if your spouse dies. You do grasp the difference between someone dying and divorcing them, right?

You know, it's this kind of religious certainty that "God" favors you and your opinion of what that "God" wants over all others that causes people to fly planes into buildings.

You still don't get it, because God is not supporting my opinion, it is me the one supporting and favoring what God has established, and He has established that what homosexuals do is abomination to Him and that homosexuals won't inherit His new kingdom.

My regards.

So you do accept the purity codes in Leviticus as being still applicable to Christians today?

What about lesbians, driving? God doesn't seem to have a problem with lesbians for some reason.

And again, about all those divorced Christians, why aren't you out trying to restrict their rights?

this is not correct. abomination means strong dislike, jesus does not like stealing and it says so in the bible many times, there is a lot of stuff he dont like, I dont know what bible your reading

I do grasp the difference. so then we are back at the same place jesus said you can remarry if they cheat, or if they die...you still get to remarry.

In Biblical terms, it actually means "loathsome" or "unclean".

Right. So we're back to my question: What have you done to oppose the legal right to remarry after divorce? What actions have you taken to encourage other Christians not to get divorced? How did you counsel your brother? Is he welcome in your church? Aren't you worried about his immortal soul?

Where exactly did he say the part I've put in bold? I know where He says you can divorce your spouse if they cheat on you, but I don't think there's anywhere that He said you can remarry afterward. In fact, He gives a blanket condemnation of remarriage after divorce with no exceptions that I can see.

we're SUPPOSED to be a secular nation, not a theocracy. if you cant think of any real world reason why gay marriage should be illegel, then what is the debate? your religious beliefes (or any other) should not be made to control the rest of us who are not of your religion. you can believe god hates gays, and they are an abomination, and all the abhorent beliefes you want, but the rest of us shouldnt have to live by these rules. if your god is real, he will judge homosexuals. and we will then know that god is a bigot as well.
