Are fundamentalists, whether religious, or political, trying to create a new world order?

I would say more like an "old world order".

PS: fundamentalism as a religious doctrine is well defined, but how would you define a "political fundamentalist"?

extreme right/left, or polarized, not a moderate of either side

Well then, if I were to accept this definiton for "political fundamentalist" and that for religious fundamentalists, I would say that no, the overwhelming majority of those groups don't wish to create a new world order.

Religious fundamentalists are attempting to recreate a religious theocracy or a regime with strong theocratic accent similar to those of Modern era Europe and Middle East.

The extreme right is dominated by neo-nazi and other ethno-fascist groups who wish to recreate the fascist States of Europe in the 30's and 40's. A couple are more attracted to "robber-barons" capitalist States more akin to England or the US in the mid 1800's (slavery included).

The extreme left is dominated by tired marxists trying to revive the days of the Soviet Union and communist revolution of the early 20th century.

The only groups that could be said to be interested in creating "a new world order", in the sense of something new that hasn't been tried to a large extand before would be anarchists and "third positionists". While anarchists and communalists are on the ascendant amongst the extreme left, displacing the marxists of old, the third positionists are still very, very unpopular.

What do you think?

A new world order is prophesied in the Bible actually...one from God that will bring about true peace and security and righteousness to the earth (2 Peter 3:13).....but there is also one that will be attempted by man.....a pseudo mimic of the kingdom of God, that is brought about by humans with a purely political agenda.

It is recorded in Revelation that it will rule "one hour", or metaphorically speaking, only a very short period of time. (Revelation 17:10-12) It is prophesied to take the reigns over mankind as a 'one world government' under the auspices of the UN, promising 'peace and security'....but it will end in absolute chaos. (1 Thessalonians 5:3) It will introduce a totalitarian regime that will try vainly to control mankind by enforcing its laws in violent fashion as we have seen in recent times as police are trained in this kind of intimidating law enforcement.....any wonder that it will not last. Jesus said that in the ensuing "great tribulation", that "unless the days were cut short, no flesh would be saved". (Matthew 24:21-22)

The light at the end of the tunnel is that the promised Kingdom of God will set matters straight by "crushing all failed human governments" and replacing them with the rule of Christ as King of God's kingdom. (Daniel 2:44) Only then can God's will "be done on earth as it is in heaven". Its what Jesus taught us to pray for in the Lord's Prayer. (Matthew 6:9-10)

That is how we see the future.....are we ready?

Beware the balance fallacy. The middle ground might sometime look attractive, but the midway point between sense and non-sense is still a longway from being sensible.
Nonsense, or laughter is sometimes the best medicine. Some take life to seriously and some not enough.

All sense and no nonsense, makes for a boring life

Politics and ethics aren't "fun and light hearted stuff'.

Fun fact: Charlie Chaplin, who famously made fun of Adolf Hitler of all people in The Great Dictator, was a radical pacifist and a communist, for which he got in such serious trouble in the 1950s US (where he had been living for decades), that he moved to Switzerland and never returned. So, one of the undisputed masters of slapstick comedy was a radical extreme leftist.
