An army of fallen Angels appears in Revelations. Satan had an army of 1/3 of the Angels in Heaven. There was war in heaven, and Michael the Archangel and his army of Angels, throw Satan and his Angels to earth. These fallen Angels are connected to Satan; his loyalists.
Revelations 12; 7-9
And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 8 but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. 9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
This symbolism tells us that at one time Satan was condoned in Heaven. Satan had a lot of power, as implied by his leading 1/3 of the Angels. Satan being heaven, as a leader, occurs through the Old Testament and the New Testament, with the exception of the book of Revelations. Satan even comes to Jesus in the Desert, to offer Jesus all the kingdoms, wealth and power of the Earth, if Jesus would bow and serve Satan; Lord of the Earth. But Jesus would not accept the generous material offer. This snub would lead to the war in heaven. Jesus wanted to replace Satan, and take over his place with God.
In Genesis, Satan was connected to the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil, which led to the fall from paradise. Satan was put in charge of humans and law; Lord of the Earth. The tree of knowledge of good and evil is about law, which defines good and evil. Satan's law approach to the humans was condoned in Heaven, until Revelations. After that Satan and his angels have no place in heaven. They are banished to the earth, and now lack the divine sanction, they once had. Humans may not be aware of this heavenly change, where what was once sanctioned by God and accepted in heaven, was no longer sanctioned in Heaven.
The symbolism tells us that law of good and evil and Satan were no longer divine; heavenly, but became more like man made. Satan and his Angels, become a type of renegade spirit, that would seem divinely sanctioned, to humans, but which was no longer the case, leading to confusion; relative morality appears which causes war and suffering.
One big wild card is God created the Heavens and Earth in 6 days, and then rested on the 7th day. The question is how long did God rest, with his creation already up and active? While resting, God was not micromanaging. Instead, God assign others to keep up with the day to day chores of creation.
Satan was placed in charge of humans and Earth, as God rested. God had made provisions before he rested. knowing a prohibition would create temptation. God wanted them to eat of Satan's tree since Satan had been chosen to be placed in charge of the humans.
Satan as the CEO, in charge of operations on earth, played the role of God, in terms of what humans could perceive and understand, as the real God rested. Satan's early role was condoned in Heaven, until Satan got the boot. But humans were not aware of the change in Heaven, seeing that the earth was still the same, God was still resting and Satan was still the Lord of the Earth. The Archangel Michael fought Satan. It was not God fighting this battle with Satan, since God was still resting, and he had placed Michael in charge to enforce time dependent rules in Heaven. The clock struck and Satan is removed.
Satan after being thrown to the earth, who had once been accepted as the God of the Old Testament, was no longer justified, going forward. His historical past was still be OK; grandfathered in, while Satan was accepted in heaven for his role. But going forward, after the war in Heaven, things on earth will become different. Satan based law of good and evil has no divine purpose; objectivity. Now law will become more subjective; relative and subjective, with this causing suffering.
After Satan is thrown from heaven, there is a pause in Heaven, until new leadership can take over the job once occupied by Satan. Revelations places Jesus in this role, as God rests. The battle becomes, Satan and man on earth, against Jesus and Heaven; faithful and true. In the end, the armies of Heaven come to settle the power struggle.
Satan had been Lord over humans so long, humans were not aware he got the boot, and now instead of helping heaven and God, Satan uses his power on earth to undermine heaven, as God rests. Revelations tells of his chosen tools; AntiChrist and False Prophet. They will prosper on earth, until the tide turns. Falling Angles can be very seductive, and will help to fool the humans. This describes some of the steps within an update in the operating system of the human brain.
