Does God need excuses?

Baha'is do not MAKE it a fictional story, but much of the Bible is allegorical so it IS a fictional story.
Well some Christians take, or make it, literal, and Baha'is take, or make it, fictional.

Why would that make God responsible? God gave man a brain and free will to choose between our two natures.
I think it makes him responsible because he made humans with a lower nature. Why would he do that knowing the pain and suffering that people would go through? We all know why you don't want to blame God, but some of us disagree.

So humans would have a choice. How an anyone prove their worth unless they have the power to choose to do good or evil?

That pain and suffering is brought on by their own bad choices, so they can just as well avoid it by making good choices. God gave us the guidelines through the Messengers so there is really no excuse for people to say they don't know right from wrong. The Bible has been around for about 2000 years.
