Wow that sounds interesting, I look forward to your posts, where I hope you will explain what you believe and disbelieve; you certainly have my interest!ShaunPhilly said:I would introduce myself in another place, but I feel that would be somewhat redundant.
I do not believe that God exists. That makes me an atheist. However, I don't know for sure, that makes me an agnostic. I'm an agnostic-atheist.
To clarify, I don't think I can know for sure whether or not some being exists in the universe that would fit some or all of the criterie we might establish for deserving the title "God." As for some particular conceptions of divinity, say the ancient Greek pantheon or Mithra, I am willing to say that I am as sure they don't exist as I am sure that this keyboard I'm typing on exists. As for more modern conceptions, say of the major monotheistic religions, I would have to wonder what exactly they think god is (metaphysically, that is) in order to rate my willingness to concede the possibility.
Do I think Jesus Christ was God? no. I don't even think the early "Christians" (before Paul) thought that.
The reasons for my lack of belief may come with further discussion, but I will say that my lack is based on philosophical problems rather than a problem with religions. My problems with religions are a separate issue from my lack of belief, as I believe that many religious traditions have fascinating insights into human psychology, history, and what Nietzsche called the "metaphysical need."
That's all for now.

hello Nonda!!nonda said:Does God exsist? Yes. I would like to think that of all the things we as humans have to go through, Good or bad. That there is a reason for and a meaning to. I have tried to think of the possiblitile that God does not exsist, but the thought never stays. Like when I look at my childern. Babies have that unmistakable wonder in thier eyes, almost as if you are looking at God himself. Then when I am in nature, I take in the awsomeness of earth and everything on it. I've tried to imagine that maybe it is all science and just cause, but once again drawn to God. There is a design to everything. Plants, animals, water, air , solar system and humans. It is all mathematical. God's equation!
1. That will be taken care of on the day of judgement.geordie said:Does God exsist? if he does what will he think about things ike what

robtex said:In regards to # 1 wouldn't you say that if a God made man and made him in a fashion that man used resources to thrive as a species it would be in congruence to God's plan--aka predestination. Our ablity to use resources is a large contributer to our survival as a species today and whatever negative outcomes that have come about I would argue that as a species it is in our nature to use (abuse) the enviroment around as a mechanism for survival.
God put us here to make our own choices... the world is the way it is because thats what the majority of us chose.. if we dont like it, then we can change it whenever we choose... and he thinks that if that what we choose, then that is good enough for him.. he doesnt have a right or wrong.. there is no such thing as "right" or "wrong". thats what we as humans ave created..geordie said:Does God exsist? if he does what will he think about things ike what

Although there are men who insist that there exist no god or God but the mere fact that there are people who love to live in peace and harmony and who wholeheartedly obey the laws of God whether written in the Bible or written in their hearts, especially those who are observing righteousness, mercy, truth, charity and holiness, then it goes to show that there always exists God.geordie said:Does God exsist? if he does what will he think about things ike what

My theory on god is this; if something has a name then it exists even if one cannot see it.Some of the things you cannot see but they exist, love, vision, empty space, electricity and so on, one could go on for ever. What ever man is doing to this planet is with gods will or he would have stopped it by now. And do you honestly think that Islamic terrorist do atrocities out of hate? They do it out of love in what they believe in; some do it for god, some do it for preservation of their cloture. I believe love delivers all the emotions like, jealousy, anger, disappointment hate, tolerance, intolerance, obedience, disobedience. Love is not just hugs and kissed, it is every single human emotion put into one.geordie said:Does God exsist? if he does what will he think about things ike what
