    You may call me "sage."

I am an American teenager. A teenage male, to be slightly more precise.

I write poetry, paint (though not very well), daydream, play guitar, attempt to write my own songs, think, read, exist, and question. I also enjoy athletics and summertime - especially days spent lying on the grass with friends wearing jeans in sandles.

My interest in eastern religion began maybe five years ago when I read about Buddhism in school. I also discovered Taoism. Both religions interested me very much. My mother is Jewish and my father is Christian, and we did not "actively" practice any single religion. I was agnostic. I always believed there was a greater (divine?) binding force or energy that unified everyone, though I had no idea what exactly this was. Two years ago, my interest grew in Taoism and dropped in Buddhism, though I still find the latter interesting. I read "The Tao Of Pooh" and enjoyed it very much.

I am fascinated by other cultures and religions, and hope to learn much more while I am here.

Thanks for reading about me, and positive energy to everyone,

    -Sage

ANOTHER TAOIST!!!!! Even though we have already met in the taoist section, I would like to welcome you to RF!!!!!! :D I am not sure if you have read it or not (i'm guessing you have), but the Tao Te Ching was the first "religious, or philosophical" book I ever read that made total sense to me. I've read the bible, the upanishads, the koran, many sutras, etc... But it wasn't until I came across Lao Tzu's work that I realized the world could make sense. And then my studies took me to Zen buddhism and the many zen koans, and again... I found sense. Coupled with my work in the spirit world, I have become a simple, peaceful, loving, and overall better person. Woah, I wrote too much... :D I'll stop there, and say again... WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!

Oops, I forgot to post the New Member Links here yesterday. (Come to think of it, perhaps since I hadn't gotten it completed yet.)
