Thank you for this post. Anything about caring people helping animals anyway they can brings a smile to my face.My son caught a stray cat. He's very skinny, but has been eating and is slowly adjusting to us.
That's great to hear! How is the cat doing? My son caught a stray cat. He's very skinny, but has been eating and is slowly adjusting to us.

Pretty well! The kids named him Chauncey. That's great to hear! How is the cat doing?
I enjoyed your lessons immensely. One time, a student of mine found it difficult to pronounce the name Czechoslovakia, so she called it Chocoslovakia.
Extreme thinness is often a result of worms. I would suggest getting Chauncey dewormed.Pretty well! The kids named him Chauncey.
He's not all out feral, but he gets nervous about walking feet and a lot of movement. He both greatly wants to be in the kitchen(where the food is), but greatly fears it, nervous of the small space with lots of feet. He's crying less and less from fear over these feet every day, though.
He comes and goes, seeming to prefer to be inside more than out. He does not have any idea what to do with a litter box, though. I have one other cat that won't use one, but he waits at the door like a dog. I'm wondering if this might be easier for Chauncey, and am trying to give him this option as well.
He seems overall healthy; I notice no problems. He'll need to be fixed at some point. He's very, very thin, but I anticipate he'll gain weight as he has constant access to food now. He's a picky eater for a stray, though. Most strays I've seen will gorge on anything; he won't eat people food(except chip dip). He recognizes cat food bags, which makes me question if he was once a pet. I checked the Pet Alert, but I don't see him missing on there.
I may borrow that pronunciation. One time, a student of mine found it difficult to pronounce the name Czechoslovakia, so she called it Chocoslovakia.
I haven't seen any signs of worms, but it doesn't hurt to do anyways as a precaution. Thankfully, that treatment is something the vet lets me pick up.Extreme thinness is often a result of worms. I would suggest getting Chauncey dewormed.
Where did the name Chauncey come from?

Hmm. Being its in emotional support animal, would it be allowed in stores that have pet friendly policies. What you need is an emotional support alligator that has been relieving this guy's depression for years
Unfortunately someone stole it
