I saw him on Tamron Hall today.Hes an actor played in The Parent Trap The Big Easy (my favorite) A Dogs Journey many other movies.

He"s 66 years old. He"s still a good-looking guy. He"s marrying a 27 year old woman. OkI'm not gonna judge weather this is sexist or not but is it realistic.40 years difference wellb 39 will it last?

That"s a huge difference I don't know. I hope he is happy and it does last for him. But does anyone have an opinion about this. It"s interesting though.

I tend to think that people should generally marry from their own age group. That won't last. Relationships with such big age differences often don't last, especially when one is old enough to be the parent or grandparent of the other.

The probability of it lasting? Not good, especially if one is involved in acting; that takes a toll on a marriage, anyways. But, stranger things have happened. I try not to get too invested in the relationships of others because there are just too many unknowns. And, of course, it's none of my business anyways. :)

Of course Dennis Quade is a big star , I like some of his movies and a good looking guy. I guess it should not surprise me. ……………………….wow 27 years old. He is attractive though for 66.

No, neither marrying much younger or refusing to age with the rest of us is uncommon in Hollywood.

if they are happy together then let them enjoy their time together, chances are it will only be a short time but little love is better than no love. I just hope there is no bitterness when the love runs out.

My parents had at least 30 years difference between them.
Make no mistake, there was no coercion involved and my mother is very head strong and independent.
My father was a gentle kind soul.
I love them, of course. But they didn’t have a marriage like other parents that I saw around me. There was a sort of pleasant understanding between them.
But if my mother wasn’t devoutly religious, I think she would have divorced him (but still remain friends and support him.)

So I support the idea of marrying inside your age bracket.
Then again I have a cousin who is very happily married to a man like 20 or so years her senior. So I mean if you find “the one” then that’s the one for you

Age is a random number. it doesn't say anything about much that matters. At most, it tells what events one will remember.

The important stuff for a relationship: caring, trust, partnership, etc, have little to do with age.

if they are both happy, more power to them!

It does matter, though. Just the knowledge of cultural references will be far apart. You have to be able to relate and have similar interests.

It's really no ones business or concern, they are consenting adults, the only appropriate thing is to butt out and mind our own business as it's not our business, our marriage, or our life. It can work. Society just doesn't like seeing it work because the societal narrative is it can't work and is inappropriate (how many times have we heard this one before despite it not really mattering?).
Age doesn't mean you can or can't relate. People in their late 20s, I can't relate to much as thats an age where what they do relate to I'm abit too old for (such as how I was outside of the Harry Potter reading age when it came out, no social media or cell phones in high school, and I was in a much better position in terms of work experience during the recession than those just starting to work). People in their late 40s I can relate to much better, despite the bigger gap (Ozzfest and MTV, Thundercats, and an entire world before the internet).

Yeah, but people in their 40s are only a decade older than you, not 4 decades.

It still stands it cant be assumed who people can relate to by their age alone. The way my mom pinches pennies and her level of prudishness, you'd think she was born over a century ago and she rather tham her parents went through the first half of the 20th century a child and young adult. But she was born in the second half, into a wave amd flood of American commercialism and material pursuits leading to booming economy and strong middle class, with her age group having Woodstock and the Summer of Love. The very opposite of the Depression-like thriftiness and Victorian-era prudishness she does practice and adhere to.

Not always but it stands to reason that the wider the age gap, the less they'll have in common. When it comes to rich people and celebs, obviously the money of the older famous partner is going to play a big part here.

Not necessarily with the first part. Shared interests are a common thing that begins relationships, and many hobbies amd activities are enjoyed by a large range of ages (which adds physical proximity which is another thing that tends to start relationships). Life experiences, interests, hobbies, there are just so many different things people can have in common that aren't dependent on age that it seems poor judgment to assume people of such an age group from the start can't relate.
And, to top it off, we don't know their motivations for being in a relationship. It could they are just in it for the status and prestige. Maybe it is a connection. Perhaps he is a sugar daddy with a pretty, young lady. Regardless, I see no reason to assume age must be issue, as it seems they themselves think its not a big deal.

Yes, I know. I'm not speaking in absolutes but in generalities. I didn't say it was impossible, merely unlikely for it to work.
