I hope its ok to put up a thread for singles here.So if your single what are your standards for dating? Will you be open to living together or is marriage the only way?

I would rather live with someone. I am not ready to date now but perhaps next year I maybe. I do not want to date someone with a drug or drinking habit, preferably someone who does not doe either one. But social drinking is ok I guess.

No smokers. I won't date an obese man thats over 300 in part because I had a bad experience with one guy Robert who weighed 300 , Also I don't want to date till I have quite a bit of weight off me, I would rather not go into a relationship with an over eating problem looming.

If I were to date an over eater its like an ex drug addict dating a heroin addict. I would end up having to cook fatening meals for him and then over eating myself.

But when I dated Robert he would make up lies about being in a diet and losing weight to his friends because I had dropped 50 pounds. But I did not keep it off. But he would pig out on beer get drinks and pig out on white carbs and sweets then claim he was on a low carb diet.

I could tell people knew he wasn't being honest but they just all went along and showed compassion then when they'd turn and start talking to me and ask am I not in a diet with him? Then they ranted at me for not losing weight. I know good and well they blamed me for him not losing weight.

Well a mans not responsible for losing weight, a man can't help it its natural for men to over eat and be big! I knew exactly what they were thinking and they thought it was terrible for me to not get him on a diet and not lose the weight myself but for him they had compassion.......... Sorry if I had to go through with that with another obese man I would be really really angry.

Its sexist, the community our world is very very sexist when it comes to big men, big obese men who over eat.. Its like everyone doesn't see it as a bad thing for men but its evil for a woman to be fat, were suppose to be perfect.

I haven't been single for a loooong time, but if I was looking for anything serious I started with 'someone who truly respects thenselves'.

    That never failed me.

I mean, sometimes we worked out the attraction wasn't there, or whatever, but I don't look back at any of those ladies and wonder what I was thinking.

it's wrong of them to blame you for him being over weight. People like that are fools and you should just ignore them cause they're not important.

My dating standards are impossibly high, since I'm not interested in dating. I'm waaay too happy with voluntary celibacy to mess it up with dating.

    Your mileage may vary.
