Cicero about Freedom: Brexit and the European Union

Cicero said 2000 years ago:
Libertas non in eo est ut domino utamur justo, sed ut nullo.

Freedom is not when you have a fair master, but when you have no master.

This is what Frau Merkel and Monsieur Macron are trying to tell Boris Johnson. That the EU is a fair, rightful master.
But I hope Britain understands Cicero's words.
I hope Scotland and Northern Ireland hear them, too.

First off, the UK government is responsible for immigration and can (and did) set caps. It just didn't adhere to them.

Next, britain cannot function without immigrant labour. The NHS is already in meltdown because its immigrant workers are moving to the EU mainland.

Food shortages are predicted because immigrant farm workers are going the way of the NHS workers. Supermarkets are stockpiling foid supplies in an attempt to ease the situation after brexit.

Environmentally unstable, bull.

Brtian can function without immigrant workers but chooses to take, what is the cheaper option of stealing skilled labour from other countries instead of training its own.

Yes, we must pay more for food but this is a good thing. Pay agricultural workers a living wage instead of exploiting foreign labour. Paying more for food will effectively redistribute money to the low paid where it will circulate more, stimulating the economy.

What do you mean by "environmentally unsustainable"?

And how would you work out the limit of environmental sustainability?

Well, trees are dying, due to a reduction of the water table, for instance. Clearly, unlimited immigration is environmentally unsustainable, as population density increases there is an ever-greater strain on the environment and more and more land is taken for houses, commercial and industrial development

It is not only that. Britain is an island and England is densely populated.

Tell that to the failing nhs and farmers.

If you are happy with little or no health service and food shortages because no brit wants the sh**y jobs even if money is better then thats up to you. Many people who are ill or will become ill, many families wont be able to feed their children will suffer because of such shortsightedness. Such s joy to have on your conscience.

You have no clue of economics either do you, you would prefer to live in a utopia. Most food is purchased by supermarkets who are always cutting the price to the farmer. Do you really think they will increase their prices?

BTW, the uk has relied on imigration since the ice age, we are all immigrants to the uk
