Can anyone translate Irish?

I thought this was funny and then I heard it. Good call.

Edit: I tried, without success to find the meaning as well. Still looking.

I can only tell you he is not counting to four, ordering a whiskey, saying hello, please, thank you or goodbye, or asking where his bedroom is. :D

Your welcome.

Wow. Uh. That looks hard to translate. I'd love to help but I honestly only know about less than 500 irish words(even though I've been learning it since I was 5).
I tried looking for the translation for you but didn't find anything.
In the song name, I think 'baile' means home and 'laimh' means hand.
I have an irish dictionary so I could try translating it for you sometime word by word.
Or...I'll see if I can ask someone fluent.

I found it a little hard to understand him the Irish is a colloquial dialect but here is the bones of it, I had to get help to do it! :) Better late then never.

O isn't it pleasant looking at the fields and me walking them every day
Chasing and herding the sheep (white stock) on the high, unblemished mountains
You would love the birds of the forest singing their high tune
And no melancholy in their hearts to be leaving that place of her hand

How lovely your fields grow, my love,
How lovely she laughs with respect, friendly and cheerful.
Dancing with beautiful girls that never walked the journey with me.
No snow or rain falls in the place that is near her.

The ship is travelling on the high tide with the captain high on the wheel (steering),
To bring me overseas to the land of the Fresh Islands.
How sad and weakening it is to be forever parted from my love.
I will never again be in the place that is near her.

I pray for every blessing and grace for the boys of that fair island.
…. On the beach.. I was often found swimming happily.
Or hunting on top of Márthainn Hill running as fast as a hound.
I would prefer to be alive and enslaved as long as I could be in the place that is near her.
