When someone starts actively, directly practicing their belief systems on another that isn't helpful, and without their consent, is it out of line?
What does that mean? How do you practice your beliefs on someone? When someone starts actively, directly practicing their belief systems on another that isn't helpful, and without their consent, is it out of line?

How in what way?
Everyone does that. Everyone has beliefs they try to push in some way. If not, this forum would not exist.a person believes that women shouldn't wear men's clothes or men shouldn't wear women's clothes. so then they try to pass laws requiring men to wear what they think are men's clothes and women to wear what they think is women's clothes.
or a person doesn't believe two persons of differing skin colors should be marrying. so they pass a law forbidding different skin colors from marrying.
in other words they not only control themselves with their beliefs but also others.
Whilst true. Not all of us are trying to pass laws to that effect either. Whereas some people actually are doing exactly that in the real worldEveryone does that. Everyone has beliefs they try to push in some way. If not, this forum would not exist.
Why wouldn't you want laws in line with your religious beliefs?Whilst true. Not all of us are trying to pass laws to that effect either. Whereas some people actually are doing exactly that in the real world
(Not saying you are trying to do that, just to be clear. I’m speaking in general.)
Because I don’t want to live in a theocracy. Why wouldn't you want laws in line with your religious beliefs?
No, there is a difference in using beliefs to control oneself and then actively forcing them upon another.i don't like abortion. But I'm not going to tell a woman she has to have one or not.Everyone does that. Everyone has beliefs they try to push in some way. If not, this forum would not exist.

Do you mean I shouldn't have told my children that God exists and loves them? That would make me a terrible parent, IMO.Like with children?
I said in line with your religion. That doesn't necessarily mean it's a religious law. We all vote our morals. I would hope.Would you want laws based on a religion that is not the one you follow?
Are you a US citizen? There's this "pesky" detail in its Constitution called the Establishment Clause within the First Amendment, "Congress shall pass no law respecting an establishment of religion".
Even if that didn't exist, Christianity is in a rapid and steady decline in the US. So even if laws were religious based, inevitably, they would be replaced by either another religion's dictates or, the only reasonable option in any scenario, be secular.
So this is just another abortion thread? No, there is a difference in using beliefs to control oneself and then actively forcing them upon another.i don't like abortion. But I'm not going to tell a woman she has to have one or not.
So this is just another abortion thread?
Should we also not force people not to murder their children?
I mean, I find it reprehensible, but that's just my opinion, right?
I have no idea what that means. It's too vague. It can mean anything you want it to.no, its not another abortion thread. you asked a question how that was possible. I gave you an example.
some people don't understand boundaries. there is the idea of "thou shall not trespass". there are psychological boundaries just like their are physical boundaries that shouldn't be crossed.
some immature people don't understand the idea of boundaries and they cross them all the time; thinking their good intentions are necessary.
the road to hell is pave by such people
