I am wondering what is the etiquette that is followed at the bathing tanks that many temples have within their grounds? What is the etiquette for women vs men?

Thank you, everyone.

All I know is when I was in India I brought my soap, toothbrush and razor to the tank and that went over poorly.

Be your own guru
There are separate ghats at many places. Then Indian women have the art of not exposing much when bathing. And if something has been exposed before being quickly covered up again, they do not bother much about that. There may be a whole lot of women doing that. I have never hovered much around women bathing. Religious bathing is just a dip, many times with clothes on. And the family males keep a watch. Perhaps the Google link can tell you more about that. :)

The only place I know personally is Rameswaram where the dip is in the ocean followed by 22 wells. Both genders just went around and together, fully clothed, or almost.
