On a dark desert highway
Dead bugs in my teeth
Warm smell of cow feces
Drifting in from the east

The sign on the shoulder said
Food and lodging next right
I hadn't eaten since the night before
Thought I'd stop for a bite

As I sat on the porch swing
I heard the dinner bell
And I was thinking to myself
Some good home-cooking sure would be swell

So I asked for a menu
And they brought me a plate
There were voices down the corridor
Thought I heard them say

Welcome to Aunt Edna's bed and breakfast
"What a nice young man. Would you like some spam"?

Plenty of food at Aunt Edna's bed and breakfast
Any time of year, parking in the rear.
