I need to hear from someone that is shinto. What really appeals about the religion. Why people would choose to believe in it, the plus sides of it. I need to find this out for school.

I am not a Shintoist but I will admit I find the concept of Kami interesting
Kami refers particularly to the power of phenomena that inspire a sense of wonder and awe in the beholder (the sacred), testifying to the divinity of such a phenomenon
I have little understanding of Shinto, and I could be interpreting things incorrectly, but I like some of what I have seen as it applies to thanking things. Not that I think there is a Kami (although who am I to say there isn't) but to show appreciation for a thing I see rather refreshing.
