    Is Psychology a real science?

To be honest, so long as psychology adheres to the scientific method then it's science. Hypothesis>Observation>Falsifiable Theory.

    Is Psychology a real science?

I guess you're talking about social psychology, because biological psychology/neurobiology is a 'hard science'...

    Pardon?

I know not all Muslims are Islamists, but...

That is slightly longer than the hadith I had heard, probably a different narration, but yes broadly..

I know not all Muslims are Islamists, but...

Allah (swt) says: “Take one step towards me, I will take ten steps towards you. Walk towards me, I will run towards you.” Hadith Qudsi.

I know not all Muslims are Islamists, but...

There's the 'take on step toward Allah...He will take 10 toward you' hadith (?) that might be a good way to explain why going the 'extra mile' appeals...

    Muhammad ibn Abd'Wahhab

Well that could be why then. I am a Brit :D

I know not all Muslims are Islamists, but...

I still think that there is a great difference in how women dress. I should say I'm somewhat of an expert on the subject, given how much of my day is spent glancing...my bad...

How do you reconcile religion and intellectual freedom at a personal level?

I actually became Muslim from an Christian background, although my mother is a secular atheist. It's funny that a good quantity of Muslims take a literal approach to the teachings of Islam, when the Quran itself states that it teaches by metaphor, allegory, thus sign; the Quran is even...

Can apostates be forgiven according to Islamic theology?

To be honest ZooGirl, I tend to think that if you were able to 'leave' Islam you probably hadn't understood Tawheed properly, and if you didn't grasp Tawheed, then whatever you thought your religion was, it probably wasn't Islam. You're obviously on a journey, and once you fully grasp Tawheed...

I know not all Muslims are Islamists, but...

To be honest, one can still see when a sister is stunning even with Hidjab and Niqab. Beautiful eyes and an imagination can be more alluring than a pair of daisy dukes. It takes more than a veil to combat the male mind, :D astagfir Allah.

    Muhammad ibn Abd'Wahhab

To be honest I've never fully looked into the difference between the schools of jurisprudence, but I have been told on multiple occasions by people that listen to my opinions that I am closest to Hanafi. I'll watch this thread with interest.

I know not all Muslims are Islamists, but...

That's not true Terry...it's much easier to have a perve at some women than at others!!! i.e. shape, legs, curves. They very much dress differently in this regard. There's an Islamic saying in regard to beautiful women; 'The first look is for yourself, the second look is for Shaitan'

    Islamic Cosmology and Muslim ontology?

Just to pick up on this analogy (a sign of sorts), it is because what is simple with small quantities, becomes less simple with larger works. Having a formula that can work in exchange with other formulae, actually saves working for longer problems. In basic maths it does seem labourious, but...

    Islamic Cosmology and Muslim ontology?

And as an impression it's perfectly valid

    Islamic Cosmology and Muslim ontology?

Well the circle seems to be quite important, it figures in some of the primary rituals of the religion. Then to be honest I'm not sure what you mean, it is as if you imply that somehow Muslims are blind to sign and symbol, when they exist everywhere around us. The compass representing...

    Islamic Cosmology and Muslim ontology?

I was a christian, and I'm sure you see just as many signs and symbols as me, you just might not interpret them as such. There's an interesting quote, but it seems not to be borne out by this thread 'Christians have the symbol of the cross, Muslims have it's doctrine'
