Why is the talking snake bad?

I would like a direct quote from the Bible stating that the Serpent is Satan. Not your conjecture. So you are saying that Adam and Eve had no chance to repent and return to heaven on their death? Isn't this the entire basis of the Abrahmic religions? Repent and you will be saved. Furthermore...

    "Pagans" Only: Mythology vs. Fiction

My general philosophy on religions is to each their own, if they aren't hurting anyone, and living by some sort of moral code, what do I care what they call their deity(ies). Or why care about where they get their ideas? Many older religions get their beliefs from older texts, that are full of...

Why is the talking snake bad?

The idea of God at odds with a dragon seems to be a fight between old and new. In my thoughts at least though i'm not sure if the dragon mythos were yet popular with the writting of Genesis.

To Theists: How would the world be different if there were no God?

Oh see I thought it was the latter... In that case, how would we know? There is no tangible proof that there are any deity(ies) to begin with, just faith, how would we know that they suddenly disappeared? Would we get a memo? To be honest if they did suddenly disappear would it change...

Why is the talking snake bad?

So then if they would have obeyed they would have been made gods?

To Theists: How would the world be different if there were no God?

I believe that if we had never grasped and held the concept of deity(ies) that we would still exist. Though that existence is hard to fathom without some god in the lives of oneself and others. As such beliefs are so intertwined within all of us, even atheists. Without the presence of deity(ies)...

Why is the talking snake bad?

I've always wondered why the talking snake of Genesis was the bad guy. He never lied. (All of the Bible passages are from the King James version as I believe it is the most widely used, though I may be wrong on that and will use a different reference if someone has a better. :D ) Genesis 2 16...

Major errors in the bible - christians whats happening here?

This has gotten grievously off topic. I believe that the Bible has so many contradictions because it was written by so many different men, who perceived the 'word' differently, the context differently, etc. Men make mistakes. Some of it may have been lost in the many translations of the...

Who Was The Women That Cain Married?

Then inform me, I will listen to rational thought, I do not like people saying that I'm wrong just for sake of saying I'm wrong. Give me a reason why it is not plural in this case and is plural in others. Explain. Don't just presume I'm an ignorant heathen and just say 'because it is'.

Who Was The Women That Cain Married?

Yes because using plurals, such as, let US make humanity, and in the likeness of OURSELVES. Definitely implies that it was not being used in the plural here.

Who Was The Women That Cain Married?

(Genesis 1:26) The God said, "Let us make humanity in our own image, in the likeness of ourselves, and let them be masters of the fish of the sea, the birds of heaven, the cattle, all the wild beasts and all the reptiles that crawl upon the earth." (1: 27) The God created humanity in the image...
