Feh, don't feel bad about that. I'm a guy in the same predicament. I went to "Wedding Bells University" where the motto is "A ring by spring or your money back." Not only did I decide to spend extra time there, but I proved beyond the shadow of any doubt that I am the Eternal Bachelor.

There isn't a lady on earth that could tolerate me...and I don't know if I want one. I like my little eccentricities and quarks that would simply have to go in a marriage .

I went to a "Desperate and Dateless" function and i was the only one that wasn't matched up.

I am starting to think women are evil succubi snt by God to destroy me..

Hmmmm yes, yes , if I could find a man that loved God as I do and loves life and all of the people and creatures of the world with great compassion...then yes I might consider a relationship.

Alas, I have found no man that falls into that description within my circles. Then there is passion of the physical side. Well my dears, I've been there and done that in my fifty years and quite frankly, sexual compatibility isn't all it is cracked up to be.

For the most part we are drawn to each other by looks alone in the beginning. Then the lust begins and wipes out common sense, ie: love is blind. So we dive in headlong to the effects of the physical attraction. After a time we come to find that we do not agree on many points...and it really bothers me that he/she doesn't put the seat down or the top back on the toothpaste and he/she puts the toilet paper on the holder backwards and he/she can't dance and I feel the need to apologize for his/her statements more often than not and I am somewhat embarrassed when we go out to public functions and gee, I never knew that he/she didn't think the same way I do on this subject. Sound familiar?

I am very happy for those who have found someone to love and hold and truly I envy them to some degree. When I see people holding hands and being affectionate with each other, it does my heart good, but it makes me a little sad that I could not have found someone, here. That is not to say that I have never loved but the phrase comes to mind, " Better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all". I have been loved and been in love and it was wonderful at the time. At the same time though, I have found God to be the greatest companion. He loves me unconditionally and there are no fights over trivial things. He gives me all I need, really. I am in love with my Creator. There is nothing that I would desire more than to be with Him in eternity

There are those who would chide me for such a lofty love, but my understanding is such that I do not hold with the pleasures of this world. These things are fleeting. The Kingdom of God is eternal and I look forward to a happiness that cannot be grasped in this place.

I can hear some of you already...."Poor Martha, she can't find anyone so she clings to God, how pityful, how sad." Forget that my dears, God's love is so awesome, I would put it against any love that is felt here in this world.

If you are in love, then I salute you and am very happy for your great find in this world. Your love is truly a great treasure, do not take it lightly, beloved. Do all you can to nurture your love for one another. Do sweet things for each other to show how much you care, and just for the pure joy of making your loved ones happy. That is your greatest gift to the ones you love.
