I'm thinking all those past events were where the wind ended up blowing progressivism at that time -not something pre-planned.
But I don't think it's a bad thing. In fact, I kind of admire the living-for-the-moment perspective for it's own uniqueness, as well as the adaptability that it enables.
An alternative to the above would be to set long-term goals as an objective, and then slowly work toward achieving those set goals over a vast period of time.
