Trump told reporters during a meeting

with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan at the United Nations.

Trump then argued that his predecessor, President Barack Obama, should not have received the award in 2009.

"They gave one to Obama," Trump said, claiming that the Democrat had "no idea" why he had received it. "That was the only thing I agreed with him on."

Asked last May whether he thought he deserved it Trump said "everyone thinks so" but that "I would never say it."

In February he said that Obama received his shortly after taking office and added that, "with me, I probably will never get it."

Nobel Prize standards are so inconsistent that perhaps Trump will get one.
I wrote this one for another Prez who got one for.....uh.....who knows....being liked?

Much to the left leaning voters' delight,
Obama received the Nobel Prize last night.
Twas nothing he'd done,
so why had he won?
Twas nothing he did, but something he might.

Trump may have been nominated by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe as well as by a couple of Norwegian lawmakers who recognize Trump's skilled diplomacy towards North Korean leader Kim Jong-un whom President Trump has charmed into refraining from test firing North Korean missiles over Japan.

Why would anyone want one? The Nobel Peace prize is an insult. They often give it to politically correct jerks and murderers.

President Trump has already received a far more honored accolade. He was elected President.

In 2006 he received an award that had previously been held by Pat Myne and later by Mike Moz after Trump got it.

Just a few years ago I would assume the OP to be purely comedical.

But the current POTUS is just sick enough for me to believe that he actually said such a thing.

The USA used to be an admirable place. It is a shame.

Trump is (in his mind) in competition with his predecessor. He already destroyed some of Obama's political achievements (Iran deal, Paris climate accord) but he can't take away his Nobel Peace Prize. The only thing that is left is to pull even.

Well the Nobel prize lost all credibility when it gave Obama a peace prize...for doing nothing at all. Not that Trump deserves one either imo. But he done more than Obama when Obama won his peace prize, just saying.
