I Want To kill. I Mean, I Wanna, I Wanna Kill. Kill....

My utopia is filled with weapons.
But no one attacks anyone else.
Since we could pick up a sharp stick, Utopia has had weapons in it. The millions of stone artifacts spread around Africa sort of supports the idea that this happened with our ancestors long before we were an extant species.

I Want To kill. I Mean, I Wanna, I Wanna Kill. Kill....

The poll below reminded me of the quote from Alice's Restaurant....
"Shrink, I want to kill. I mean, I wanna, I wanna kill. Kill.
I wanna, I wanna see, I wanna see blood and gore and
guts and veins in my teeth. Eat dead burnt bodies.
I mean kill, Kill, KILL, KILL."
Quite a song, eh.

Poll: A third of Americans favor nuclear strike in North Korea scenario

I wonder what such a poll would show about Iran?

Btw, there's a frubal for anyone who saw the title, & immediately thought of Alice's Restaurant.
Excellent insight to your thought process. Freud would love to discuss it with you.

Utopian without weapons would be a disaster.
That scenario is the one that comes to mind when I think about the idea of us all throwing away the means to protect ourselves, but the Simpson communicate it so much better than I could.

Ah, yes, I'm a fan of Alice's Restaurant and immediately thought of it when I saw this thread title.

Of course, old Arlo was trying to use reverse psychology which backfired.

A rather unsavory description of the Group W bench, though.

I think Americans have had a certain detached admiration for war and violence, particularly since WW2. It may be because most wars have been fought far away from American shores. We've grown accustomed to hearing about wars in far flung places over the course of generations.

Its track record isnt so great.

We might as well assume that happened when Trump ended the Iran agreement, meaning suddenly they were under no supervision or restrictions.

Isreal and Pakastan already have them, with India not being that far away.
The Iran agreement guaranteed Iran nuclear weapons

Yea, it is written in the Book of Cyril...
I remember the scene where Arlo casually lends (or borrows, I can't remember exactly) some urine for the drug test for joining up. That part stuck me as particularly funny.

A really interesting part of the song to me, in this hippie lefty anthem, is the casual throw away homophobia. Just interesting as a gauge on how society changes.

Indeed, times have changed on that one. What my friends and I said, (and acted about) during that era would be so politically incorrect today it's not even funny. Yet I knew people who were gay, but I didn't know they were gay until later. It wasn't in the mass consciousness at all. My Dad, a WW2 veteran saw it in the forces but did't figure out what it was until 1980 or so when he read a news story. What took me about 5 years took him 40.
