Favorite Scene In A Movie

Sicily, 1942. Malena arrives in the village square, admired by the males, envied and despised by the women. Very represenative of the tiny towns where privacy is still an optional thing, and rumors can hurt more than swords.

It has to be when Ripley saves Newt from the alien queen.

The depth of this scene isn't fully clear if one watched the theatrical release of the movie.
In the extended cut, we see that Ripley is grieving over her own young daughter growing
up & dying of old age while Ripley was in suspended animation after escaping the aliens
in the first movie, Alien. In this sequel, Ripley has become Newt's surrogate mother (her
parents were killed by the aliens),. Ripley has been protecting Newt, & has just viciously
exterminated the alien queen's babies (still in pods) with a flamethrower. Alien queen is
pi$$ed, & seeks revenge by killing Newt. This scene is the face off which both movies
have been leading up to.
Yes....it's a chick flick....all about the women....but it's great anyway.

Not often when a sequel is better than the original, but this certainly was.

I agree.
Although I prefer to think of them as different styles of movies,
each great in its own way. Terminator 1 & 2 share that relationship.

True. Perhaps neither would have had successors if Sigourney Weaver and Arnold had not been so effective as leads.

I like to pretend that the series ends with Aliens, with the game Alien Isolation in between. It has a nice story arc with the mother/ daughter cycle. Forget the later sequels and prequels.

The truth is it's often hard to get the movie clip because Warner Bros. often takes it down, but...

In the cartoon movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles released some years ago, Leonardo think he's confronting a troublemaker only to realize it's his bro Raphael in a suit. The two have one of the worst showdowns ever seen in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles universe. Very dramatic scene.

Great scene from a great film. Unfortunately, this is what is being done by the wealthy in the UK today, using the brexit disaster they manufactured to make even more obscene amounts of money.
