Music generally liked that you don't like.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
No we don't especially Bob Marley. Bob's music has been murdered and resurrected so many times I have lost count.
I like Bob Marley actually . But there was this radio station that played Buffalo Soldier so many times I just got plain sick of hearing Bob Marley songs from that point out.

Beware
Modern country music makes my ears bleed and around my area that is basically a sin of the highest degree.

The last ten years of music are predicable, formulaic, and not very creative or interesting in the musical or lyrical department.
Eh, I think for the most part '00s popular music is much worse than '10s.

I mean, this decade we had that indie boom in the early part of the decade, which produced plenty of interesting stuff like Gotye and The Decemberists - plus well-written alternative rap by artists like Lupe Fiasco and (before he started getting lazy) Kendrick Lamar. I'm not fond of most of the '80s-style synthpop revival of the mid-part of the decade, the sound can be a bit blaring and obnoxious honestly, but it definitely had creativity and the more New Wave-influenced end like Paramore's recent albums have been fun. It's really just over the last two years, with the rise of trap and muddy dirge-like pop music, that things have gotten '00s level bad again. Speaking of, Lorde partly started that trend and I find her music really dreary, so seconding the above post but seriously.

Meanwhile, '00s popular music: Insert Generic Boy Band or R&B Singer Here, snotty 25 year olds singing about how they're just a kid and life is a nightmare, everything to do with Nickelback and Creed, everything to do with crunk as a genre... the '00s were a horrible decade for pop culture, and besides a few gems like Green Day's American Idiot album or Mean Girls, should be consigned to a dustbin somewhere.

I don't like opera, nor gangsta rap (although there was some very good rap in the late 80s/early 90s--what happened?). Modern country is insipid. Modern pop is awful. I find myself wondering where the good music is these days.

I like folk, classic rock, early punk rock, post-punk, traditional jazz, swing, but that's all from the past.

Don't like pop or hip hop. Also didn't like punk or ska when it was a thing. Like others here, I think the Beatles are way overrated, and that goes for Elvis, too.

I also suffer from an aversion to "show tunes". Though there are rare exceptions, I detest Broadway show tunes.

I never really listen to pop, so I guess for me the 00's are good. :D

I usually was listening to metal music in various genres at the time and there is a lot of good stuff there. :D

I'm not a fan of country music apart from merle haggard "okee from muskogee" just because it makes me laugh and Johnny cash just because he was good, also dolly Parton but prefer the white stripes covers.

Opera or classical music can be boring unless it's live and jazz that goes nowhere with annoying flutes, wtf is that about, it seems they can't read music so they just toot away.

Justin Bieber and the chart music today is well below average Imo, I like uplifting music like foo fighters or something you can sing a long to a work.

When I walk around town it’s like some kind of a trap
And they always play it loudest when I want to nap
And it’s yo-yo-yo bro until my eardrums snap
So give it up homey, and I’ll draw you a map
Cause this is the word, I don’t like rap.

I think this is going off the rails a little bit here. Bands that the general public heralds as fantastic music that you find meh or straight up annoying.

Genres? no please there are gems in every single genre. I hate bluegrass but then there is Iron Horse and I can't say that all bluegrass is complete trash. I don't like rap for the most part, but then there is Rittz, or Rage Against the Machine. I don't like Jazz, but then there is Art Metal. There is always the exception to the genre that band is classified in.

U2. I think is terrible, and their guitarist The Edge? is a glorified sound technician more than he is a guitarist.

I can't believe no one has addressed the self proclaimed genius of music. Kanye West. His music makes me dream about ice pick lobotomies.
