YOUR Belief

Muffled

Jesus in me
Well, then that would not have been my fault....

I believe it is. The insistence on empirical evidence is a way to duck the issues. For instance science is saying there is a god particle. I do not have empirical evidence of it since I don't have a huge collider but I can at least accept that the scientists have a rationale for saying so until I hear something to the contrary.

I'm only a human, and I on more than one occasion I have lost my glasses while they're on my face.
Asking about any sort of god is just asking way too much of me.

The existence of the particle was predicted mathematically and proven when the results of the tests for it matched the predictions. When you can do the equivalent with your god then we can compare. Not so for any god. When you can make a mathematical model that predicts where we will find evidence of the god and we can run a controlled scientific experiment that confirms the prediction.....then you can talk. Scientists have a rationale based on scientific observation. How about your god?

I believe science works fineon objects but it has been very shaky on intelligence. I beleive if a prediction was made mathematicaly it was based on previus knowledge. However one is never sure the math is not imaginary until one actually get results in an experiment.

Believing in God works the same way. God intervened in men's lives and it was written what He did. That becomes previous knowlege. I have done the experiment and found that God does exist. (See the thread: Experiencing God)

I believe it is both beneficial to find lost glasses on your face and to learn of God.

Where is the evidence that a god intervened in anyone's life?

Okay, some of you might have seen my last thread, which came out wrong. It wasn't really intended to be against Christianity. Okay, so here is my new thread. This isn't a debate, but I want to see y'alls religion, and who you worship. I am a Hellenic Pagan that worships Ares and Artemis.
It would simply not occur to me to worship or offer little prayers to any form of alleged deity. I'm not sure why people think such rituals are particularly meaningful.

Proud to be a Pustra!
Havist with no spiritual deity associated. Samsus I consider a creator, but not a deity I praise, if that makes sense.

Do you mind me asking what a disciple of Yeshua is?
It's Christianity. Yeshua or Y'shua or Yehoshua, Yahshua (I've seen all those variants & more) is the name of Jesus. I call myself a Disciple of Yeshua for various reasons rather than a Christian. One is that the earliest disciples called themselves "disciples". The word "Christian" is only used a couple of times in the Christian scriptures (aka The New Testament).

Oh okay. Thank you very much for explaining, I didn't know any of this :)

I worship the felt presence of direct experience.

All the best,

I'm... all over the place. :p I call myself a panentheist. That encompasses it quite well.

I have a soft spot for: Sikhism, Hinduism, Christianity (esp Quakers), Sufism, Judaism, Taoism, (Religious) Confucianism, certain forms of Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism (Fourth Turning of the Wheel, primarily Jonang, but also Pure Land Buddhism and similar), Tengrism plus similar 'Heaven worship' faiths, Shinto and other faiths in that similar vein with spirits, and so on.

Those are only scratching the surface. I dabble in any faith I like the look of as I believe all roads lead to Rome. I feel at home where I feel at home, in nature or in temple, with saints or 'sinners' who wish to change. So to me it doesn't matter if I call God 'Shiva', 'Brahma', 'Waheguru', 'Allah', 'YHWH', 'Hu', 'Tian', 'Shangdi', whatever.

Phew. :p Out of all of those, it's mainly Sikhi-Hindu, Sufi, and Confucian at the moment. My beliefs are fairly steady, if ever changing in light of new experiences, evidence, etc.

In short I believe in one panentheistic God, in the spiritual 'other', and in the afterlife. I have animistic leanings and I have much love for the environment.

Politically, I consider myself to be conservative but others consider me liberal. I'm probably centre-right by British standards. I generally feel more comfortable with the conservative crowd, usually out of rejection of contempt of what many who claim to be 'liberal' are like and believe nowadays. I recognise that there are issues that need to be addressed and must not be shied away from because some people want to shout others down.

I like your hat.

Beliefs change all the time. Therefore nothing substantial to offer by way of belief as it's temporary.

Just practicing a simple form of Zen with no particular dogma or scripture to go by save any that resonates.

I'd just prefer to just let life and living itself provide the basis for my religious perspective until my last breath occurs.

Welcome to RF.

I believe you would do well to listen and learn. Most of us have already heard the Islamic mantra.
