The Republican Convention

I watched Guliani speak...I thought that was pretty good. I saw most of the Democratic National Convention, but I haven't seen really any of the rnc because of college and stuff.

yeah when does the convention end? I am going to NY on Sunday and I dont want to be surrounded by a bunch of republicans.

You would have to wade through all the protestors first, Colin.

So what did everyone think of Bush's speech? I thought he had some good points when he brought up that the Taliban and Saddam were gone, Libya is disarming it's nuke program, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have become allies in the war on terror, and Palestinians and other Middle Easterners have hope for democracy in their countries which will move towards resolving the conflict with Israel and therefore end the primary causes of international terrrorism. Plus Bush ripped on Kerry's flip flopping, which was humorous.

Kerry's speech directly afterwards had some good points as well...I think his statements about Bush's failed economic policy (though I don't agree with them) were well made.

I thought Bush's speech was much more impressive than Kerry's. The more I get into all of this political stuff the more Kerry seems to me to be no more than a figurehead. He has an impressive vocabulary, yet fails to really say anything substantial when he speaks.

A question, Mr. Spinkles: How can you consider points to be 'well made' when you don't agree with them?

lol. why does bush keep making fun of kerry? it seems very immature. especially when nothing good can be set about bush either. but when kerry started doing the same about bush, it was even more dumb. i found this interesting site.

www.mob.com mothers opposed to Bush.

Ceridwen-- I think people can have a good point, even though I disagree with them. In Bush's speech, he talked a lot about things he would do to help the economy in his next term, and Kerry responded by saying that he's had four years to turn the economy around. It was good rhetorical argument, even though I don't think the President has much effect on the economy.
