It must really annoy Catholics....

....when wiccans, atheists, pagans, jews, protestants, etc. give their opinions on Popes and Church teaching as if they should have a say in the business of the Church.

As Catholics, do you ever just feel like telling some critics, "Look, you don't like the Pope and/or Church teaching--that's fine, because you aren't Catholic. But I AM Catholic, buddy, and I like the Pope/Church teaching just fine, and I don't need your input thank you very much!" :149: :jam:

When church doctrine layed out by the pope effects the world political arena, it is everybodies business.:sarcastic

*MOD POST*

Please note that this is not a debate/discussion forum. This is an education forum for learning and asking questions about the Catholic faith only. Please limit your posts to asking questions about Catholicism or, if you are Catholic, to providing answers. Thanks. :)

Would a Catholic agree that when church doctrine layed out by the pope effects the world political arena, it is everybodies business?

I appreciate the discussion from outside the Catholic Church.... it's kinda the reason I joined RF instead of posting at Catholic.com......

.... that being said, I do appreciate discussion, but like any other topic, opinions are welcome, judgement is not. Anyone not open to discussion in a open, honest, sincere, respectful manner should keep their yap shut. hehe.

Since even Catholics have no say in who the pope should be or what the church doctrine should be, everyone regardless of faith has the same say in criticizing the Roman Catholic church.

It bothers me like straights having a say in gay rights, like whites voicing their opinions on Japanese culture, like Americans talking about other countries' foreign policies.

So, in other words, no, not really. Non-Catholics are entitled to an opinion, too, and are entitled to voice their opinion. Now, that doesn't mean I'm going to agree with them - but I don't agree with a lot of other Catholics!

The only thing that bothers me is ignorace - the people who feel the need to voice their opinion when they have no facts on the matter at hand. Even if they ARE Catholic!

If someone hates the Pope, fine. I don't agree. But as long as they have facts to back their idea up, I respect their opinion and look forward to a debate with them! :D

It doesn't really bother me, sometimes when people get going on bashing on the Catholic church and they don't know that I am Catholic, but then I'd rather hear that rather than lies.
I'm kind of with Scott on this one, it is good to hear outside opinions to keep me un-closedminded.
Also what linwood said, the pope lays things out for the whole world.
Everyone is going to have their opinion on everything, and that is just the way it is. :)

Would it matter if they give their opinions? I can give them my opinion back if I wanted to. It doesn't annoy me one bit. Not like this is hasnt been going on for centuries :)
