Just thought it would be fun if everyone wrote down what their profession is and something about it.

Personally, im still in school, a sophomore:D. aside from that, i pick up Donkey poo:areyoucra , for my neighbor. The donkeys are great to be around, but the dung isn't.

I'm at sixth form college mostly, but three days a week I work on the delicatessan in a supermarket near me. I get to serve people cheese, rotisserie chicken, curry, chinese, ham and salades. The cheese I hate the most is parmesan because it's so bloody hard to cut and people always want small bits....

I'm sort of still a student. But I teach meditation and shamanism at my local college. Eventually, I plan on opening a Vigil Temple where I can teach full time.

I work for a boat dealership that sells pleasure and work craft between 15 and 40 feet.I was a sterndrive specialist but am now training in outboards of all types.I won't be around next week because I am going to Atlanta for Yamaha outboard tech school. In the winter no one is boating except for the police and some fishermen so things are slow. This is when we go to school. When I finish I will be able to take on Yamaha warranty work.$$$$$$$$$$$:D

Currently, I work for a very large catalog/ online/ store company, taking calls as a personal shopper. My first love is healing work, however, and I think I may be let go from the other before long for not being very good at 'pushing' merchandice, so I'm hoping to use my training as a massage therapist to have that be my source of income. (My dream is to start my own business.)

I am an executive assistant. Ooooo! Please try to refrain from falling all over yourselves trying to gain my favor!:)

The truth is I have worked for the same company for 18 years. I started out in the warehouse. I walked three miles to get this job and then three miles to get home, since I didn't have a penny in my pocket at the time. I am happy in this position, but at the age of 50 , I am a wee bit nervous. My company sells clothing at off price. The clothing industry is taking a big hit because of the "sale factor". No one wants to pay full price or even off price anymore. If you aren't having a big sale, ie; 40 to 50% off the public won't touch it. The public knows the truth about mark-up.
I am trying to learn about internet business. There are some great perks on the net. All I need to do is create a web site. A fancy E-commerce website that accepts all of the major credit cards might cost up to $10,000, plus you have to give a percentage to the credit card company, but a small website that only deals with Pay-Pal payments could cost as little as $2,000. In my opinion, Pay-Pal is the way to go. There is no fear of anyone getting your credit card info with Pay-Pal. So I am studying my way to financial freedom. I hope.:) I don't need to be "filthy" rich, I just want enough income to be able to take care of myself in my old age, since I am alone in this world and have no one else to depend on. Wish me luck and blessings in my internet endeavor, my friends.

By the way, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I hope that I am not pushing my luck with that question on this forum site, but I feel that this is a place for helping each other realize potential, whether spiritual or physical (tangible). If I am overstepping boundaries, I apologize. I defer to the MODS, and accept their decision completely.

Don't worry JimBob. Alot of people don't even know what they want to be when they are in college. I know my sister changed her major like 4 times. English major, art major, dentist, vet, plastic surgeon, etc... Now she does breast cancer research at UCLA. So don't worry, you've got a while to go.

Johnnys4life, you go Ohio girl! Best of luck to you on your future procreation!

Jimbob, just where are you, on the map, that you have the pleasure of picking up donkey poop? I love animals. I have a dog named Hunter, a rabbit named Snowball, (guess what color she is) and about five to seven cats and a possum that I feed on a daily basis. Seriously, find the thing that you love the very best, and make that your lifes work. You might find that you can market your love of animals on the internet.

I went to a conference the other day and found some great info. As an example.... Two ladies tried to figure out what they could sell on the net, but they didn't know what to sell. Finally one of them thought, " We always use this particular product all the time, right ?", so they contacted the product's company and proposed the following; We will set up a web site at no cost to you. If we sell any of your product, would you be willing to split the difference 50/50? This little company said yes! These two ladies are making money hand over fist, and they don't do anything. The don't have to stock anything, or ship anything. All they did is set up the site. Every time someone purchases the product, they get 50% of that sale. Awesome, no? This is real. No joke. So my dear, find something you love to do, or find a product that you love and then investigate. Save some money and get a website going. Do your homework. What have you got to lose? The best job in the world is a job that you love doing, something you have a passion for. Yes it can be very cool to work at a job that pays you a good salary, but if you can get a good salary doing something that you really love to do, then you will be content and make a profit to boot!
Think about it. Get computer and internet marketing savvy and who knows what heights you will achieve! Good luck, luv.:woohoo:

Joyfully,
Martha

Hey Feathers! My dear girl, message therapy is wonderful. Think about a small place to start. Now imagine designing the therapy room, I know you have this thought in mind already. Think of the accustics, the look of the space, the feel of this space , the smell of this space, the sounds in this space. Start by choosing the varied music that you will offer to comfort your clients. Now think of the fragrances that will put them at ease. Have many scents at your disposal, for everyone will desire a different scent. Perhaps you might start with a form that asks questions about their preferences to sounds of music and scents. Cator to the individual's likes and note the dislikes. Give them options ie; do you prefer the scent of vanilla or musk? Do you prefer New Age sounds or classical music? This experience is not yours, but theirs. If I am going to give someone money to relax me, I would want it to be of my design. Think it through to the enth degree, Feathers. Everyone is different. Make your therapy a personnal experience to each individual, something that no-one else can provide. I can't wait to hear how you do. Now is the time. Don't waste another minute, my dear. They are waiting for you, but they don't even know it yet! You can do this, only you can make this happen. If this is your passion, then go for it!:woohoo:

Joyfully,
Martha

I work with mentally ill adults in a group home ranging at the age of 20-60. I have been there for almost 2 years but use to work in the same group home 7-8 years ago. I pretty much try to help them in becoming more independent. It's a transitional group home. I have recently helped someone with disability obtain their lerners permit. I am currently trying to help another client obtain her learners permit. With the illness that they have, it sometimes gets very hard since they are Bi-polar, Schizo, Depression, MR, and more. Just have the patience and understanding and I am all set to help them out. I am also in charge of menu planning, food shopping, cleaning supply shopping and helping them in achieving their goals for independence. Let's just say that from the time I get to work to the time I leave, I have my day cut out for me. I find pleasure in knowing that they can give it all they have. Knowing that they are willing to do anything to be more independent.

I have been told that I should have been a teacher but despise sitting in class for hours listening to the professors ramble about things that I will never understand. I also work part-time as a toll collector for the New York State Thruway (I am the one that smiles :D )
