  • Yeah, it was time for a change, but I don't think this new avatar really fits me all that well. I'm probably going to change it again in the very near future.
It's an option. It's something that's long interested me since I was raised by my white mother and she raised me to have a lot of pride in our Germanic and Celtic heritage. It's something I've felt drawn towards for years. I have Thor's Hammers pendants but the one I'm about to get in the mail today is the nicest one out of the three. Lol.

I've also been meaning to study more about it. I have to read the Germanic lore and the Sagas. I even contacted a Heathen Kindred last year, thinking about meeting up with them. I ended up not doing that, but I may consider it again.

The pre-Christian European religion I'm most familiar with is the Greek one, since I fell in love with those stories as a child. But I tried doing devotions to the Hellenic Gods but it's way too ritual-heavy for my tastes and needs at this point. Lol.

The Germanic religions are much more tribal, outdoorsy and shamanistic. They're not really structured "temple" religions.
Made a new post in my crazy thread... Seriously taking a turn I think. Not sure what it is but it makes sense to me... That's some progress, I guess? XD

Thanks for asking, hope you're well!
You know sometimes when I can't take all the jihadist, Israel/Palestine crap in the ME politics section of the forum, I go to the Hindu dir and relax reading some of the posts with a cup of coffee. Lol it's so calming at times.
There are wise sages from both the faiths you've asked me about who have spent decades studying the religious work. They would answer all your questions much better than anyone here ever could. Plus you'd get to eat some good food :D
    Dear Starry-ji,
Of course, there will be people who try to make us feel bad by our beliefs and personality. I sure faced a lot of discrimination from even my own family when I openly told them that I was a Vaishnava. We just need to brace ourselves for the worst. Best wishes.
    Regards
    Dear Starry ji,
I saw your post on the "Get it off your chest" thread about the poultry and I could tell that you were angered by my posts on "Religion and Food". I would like to apologize if you took my posts as offensive or demeaning. Please know that I do accept all meat-eaters as Hindus, and the fact that some try to become veg is enough for me. Once again, sorry. :(
    Regards
I started a new job last week.

    Doing great.

Spent last weekend visiting treks in adelaide. Was awesome.
Just saw your signature. That is AWESOME! I can kind of relate, as well: when I was a wee lad watching Sailor Moon, I wanted to mimic those movements, but always felt kind of awkward when I caught myself starting to.
    Nice Ganpati (Ganesh) pic :)

If you can you should go to Mumbai when there's Ganesh Chaturti, saying it's festive is an understatement.
