The Game

Once you hear about the game, you are playing, whether you want to or not, for the rest of your life; so consider carefully before you continue.

The object of the game is not to think about the game. Once you think about the game, you've lost the game; you can go on losing the game every day for the rest of your life, but the important thing is that once you've lost the game, you must announce out loud "I just lost the game," so that everyone else in the room loses, too. The point is not to trick other people into losing, as some people incorrectly assume, because once you get the idea to do it, you've already lost the game. The point is to see how long you can go without thinking about something that you're not supposed to think about. As a friend of mine said, "I love the idea that I could be 80 years old and on my deathbed, and my last words could be 'I just lost the game.'"

I just lost the game.

I just lost the game. :foot:

But that's not fair............how can I read and comprehend the OP without thinking about the game?

And, for the record, I maintain that one can only lose the game once. ;)

Peace,

I was winning the game until I came onto the forums this morning. Now I have lost the game.

The variant of this in the UK is where you say "You lose" instead.

Evidently we are more overtly sadistic over here.

I just lost the game. My friends and I often play so that if somebody announces that they lost the game, everyone gets a 10 minute grace period to forget about the game. If that was the case, I still have 5 minutes. I lost on my way to my dorm room.

My girlfriend used to be unbeatable at the game, simply because she couldn't understand it. "you lost what game?"

Hi, how's it going? Jesus loves you! (oh yeah, I lost, too, the minute I read about it) Jesus still loves even me, anyway! There is no loser Jesus will turn away! Yay!

I like Zephyr's 10 minute grace period rule. That way, I can move onto another thread, forget about it, and next time I'm at a party, I will randomly remember this, and announce I lost them.
And I'm more likely inclined to ask "what game" if someone does announce they lost, as I will probably not remember.
