What browser do you use and why do you use it? Are you aware of any potential security holes in your browser? If so, what do you do to make sure you don't get viruses?

A Firefox user here, myself. :D

Firefox. I used it because it had tabs and IE didn't. Now, I'm used enough to the way Firefox looks that I really see no reason to go back to IE.

Firefox. I have Norton AntiVirus installed as well.

I've never had a problem with Firefox.

I can't say the same for Microsoft IEEEEE! My daughter would use that and pick up viruses and oodles of spyware all the time. We finally insisted she switch to Firefox.

I love Firefox for the tabs. But also there are some handy extensions I use.

I like the accuweather extension (gardeners always need to know if it's going to rain or not) and I recently installed a theme that makes the brower look like it has cats all over it. I'm not much for bells and whistles like that usually, but it's not overdone or distracting.

We used to use Opera, but there were some pages that I used to pay bills that just wouldn't load right and I'd have to swap to IEEEEE! I switched to Firefox and never had any problems. That was a few years ago. I'm not sure what Opera is like now.

I looove how many extensions Firefox has to choose from. :) I have a weather extension, too. It's kind of nice knowing (as I sit in the nice AC) that it's 82 outside and feels like 105. :D

Another one I've found very useful is Adblock. Not only does it block most ads, if there's a picture someone has uploaded somewhere you really don't want to see (for whatever reason), you can right click on it and block it.

I had Adblock installed for a while, mostly to eliminate Neopets annoying ads, which are particularly annoying on dial up when I'm at Mom's. It needed ChromEdit to work though, and ChromEdit hasn't been updated to keep up with Firefox versions.

I might reinstall Adblock though, just for the reasons you say. It would still come in handy at times.

That's weird Sharon, Adblock works just fine for me and I keep Firefox updated.
Maybe there's a new, non-dependent version out?

I do internet tech support at work and on my computer at home I use Firefox exclusively. I've only opened IE once and that was to download Firefox. There's just too much trouble with IE.

Biggest "problem" (if you could call it that) that I've had with Firefox is that it's a bit prone to crashing. But now that it has a "restore session" function that really isn't an issue. :D I'll take a crash every now and then over gaping security holes any day.

The add-on that lets you save your sessions is great too. I use that when doing some research instead of bookmarking everything =)

I have IE, and I've never had any problems with it. So, what exactly is wrong about IE that makes alot of people dislike it?

Gaping security holes, lack of tabs, lack of awesome free extensions like Firefox...

And Firefox appeals to me more since it's open-source. :D

What gaping security holes? I've heard that Firefox is more secure, but nobody has ever elaborated. Can you educate me? :)

You can read more about it on Wikipedia. Long story short, it (last I checked) had more security holes than any other widely used browser, and the security holes that are known about aren't dealt with in anything resembling a prompt manner.
